If You Can Believe Your Eyes & Ears by The Mamas & The Papas
Sep 14 2022

Fun listen, reminiscent of driving around in a droptop with your friends Even putting aside my bias against the jangly and dazzling sound of the time period, I had difficulty connecting with any of the tracks. I have a hard time remembering the second half of the album, I'll drum that up to my lack of interest in the style and listening to it at work Highlights: California Dreamin', Straight Shooter I'll probably revisit sometime later in my life, when i can take the time to really invest my attention

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Sep 15 2022

Fun and energizing listen

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Sep 16 2022

Great album to listen to while floating through my workday. Will definitely revisit this in the future when I need some nice background music to keep me relaxed and calm, yet still attentive

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Sep 17 2022

If only they made more albums like this

Being There by Wilco
Sep 20 2022

What a banger in Misunderstood to kick off the album Someday Soon was gorgeous. Listening to this only knowing Wilco for Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, this album was a great showing of some of the diversity of the band. Wish i could give it a half star, fully deserving of 4.5

Sep 21 2022

Might've been my thing back when I was in highschool, but current me found it a little too abrasive and raw for my taste.

Call of the Valley by Shivkumar Sharma
Dec 13 2022

Very captivating record, and (speaking for myself) a great introduction into a genre of cultural music that may have gone unappreciated otherwise. This may be my ignorance speaking since, as stated above, I've never attentively listened to Indian classical, but I caught hints of international influence throughout the album that made the listening experience engaging.

John Prine by John Prine

This album is well done! Hot dog bun! My sisters a nun!

Electric Prunes by The Electric Prunes
Jan 06 2023

Going into this record without any prior knowledge, it was a blast to listen to the stylistic variety the record had to offer. Every track offered a grounded period-standard psych rock motif fused with other prominent sounds of the time. Really enjoyed the trip the album took me on, from the blissful melody in 'Onie' to the Stones-esque rock flair in 'Get Me to the World in Time'. Its a real shame the album closes with 'The Toonerville Trolley'. That track made me want to gouge my eardrums.

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention

My beard is not capable of growing long enough to quite pick up on the esoteric whispers this album wanted me to hear. I'll revisit when I'm in my late 40s, maybe it'll have more to say to me then

May 14 2023

This has been one of my top favourites of all time, there really isn't much for me to say other than sit down and give it a listen

Kenya by Machito
May 18 2023

A bouncy and warm entrance into a genre I've had minimal exposure to. Probably better enjoyed on a deck with some liquor, rather than spreadsheeting on a Wednesday morning. I don't know how to dance, but this album makes me want to learn. Favourite tracks: Conversation, Cannonology

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
May 19 2023

Well strap me in a lifejacket, plug me with an IV drip full of dark rum & coke, tie me to a riverboat, and send me down a river cuz this record had me swangin

Dummy by Portishead
May 20 2023
Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
May 24 2023

Pleasant. Simply pleasant.

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
May 30 2023

Being familiar with The White Stripes & Jack White, I went in with fairly high expectations, but was still pleasantly surprised with how the duo were able to keep me energized and entertained through all the B sides. Seriously, there are some anthemic gems in through this and its worth a full listen, especially if you were feeling like you "got" the band prior and had a muted interest Highlights: - Hotel Yorba - The Union Forever - I Can Learn

Jun 02 2023

Some standouts on the album, but I found the tracks too similar. The whole album was fading in and out of my attention Highlights: Doll Parts, She Walks On Me, I Think That I Would Die

Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
Jun 08 2023

Nothing super memorable for me... I Knew I'd Want You was a happy lil diddy though
