Classic hip-hop beats, shows how far rap has evolved.
Beautiful harmonies from John and Paul. There's enough variety to distinguish some tracks from others. I also feel like some tracks like All My Loving, Please Mister Postman and Till There Was You stands out more than other tracks.
Just your standard rock album of that time.
I read a lot of good things about this album but I have never got to listen to the album until now. I now understand why people hype this record as one of the greatest. It has beautiful production, soulful vocals and excellent instrumentation. For me, I love the drumming by Michael Giles throughout the whole album. That guy is a fucking machine. I also love how Ian McDonald adds power to songs with his saxophone on 21st Century Schizoid Man while setting the mood and feel with the woodwind on "I Talk to the Wind" and "Moonchild".
A really wacky album but there are not a lot of tracks that I want to relisten in the future apart from the opening track and "Satisfaction". I do like Alan Myer's drum work in this album.
I like the bass tone in this album. Clive Burr's drumming is really good. The favorite tracks at my initial listening were: Prowler, Remember Tomorrow and Phantom of the Opera. I would probably revisit this album once I have heard most of Iron Maidens work.
Apart from the four hit singles and "I'll Kiss You", the rest of the album is meh.
I liked some of the songs in the album but I do get why they became influential to a lot of pop and rock bands that came after them.
A collection of Christmas classics. A lot of songs from this album have become favorites during the holiday season. I think that the "Sleigh Ride", "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus", "Marshmallow World" are in my opinion some of my favorite songs in this album. My most favorite track however is Love's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" because of her beautiful vocals and great production. Overall, this is a solid Christmas album. And lastly, of course, fuck Phil Spector.
Always loved Karen's pure and very distinct voice. Richard's arrangements really brings out the best in her sister's vocal work and should be given credit for it.
Kendrick is one of the best when it comes to storytelling through his lyrics and flow. The tracks are cohesive and are kinda connected together due to the narrative which are told through the lyrics as well as the skits at the end of each song. I like the jazzy instrumentals in the songs and the female vocals from Anna Wise elevated the hooks and the verses. Overall, the album has a lot of bangers and practically no skips.
