White Blood Cells
The White StripesA very good White Stripes record. For whatever reason, it doesn't speak to me as essential after all these years.

The band does very little for me. There's some good songs o the album, but nothing that makes me ever want to put it on.
A funk rock classic & the full realization of the Isley Brothers band. Essential record.
One of the most accessible and greatest prog rock albums of all time. A record that has followed me from my teenage years through my early 50's.
It's one thing to completely change directions after your most commercially successful record, it's another to do that and write some of the best songs of your career. A truly beautiful record.
Nice album. I enjoyed it a lot more on release than I do now. The songwriting is strong, but the songs themselves don't have much staying power.
Another masterwork by Yes. It has all of the bombast & pomp associated with prog, but is as accessible as anything.
This is another good record, but another example that this list probably needs to be updated. Not sure that I would rank this anywhere near a top 1000 to hear before one dies
The best soundtrack of all time. A fantastic mix of songwriting and incidental music. A funk masterclass in every way.
