this sounded like an album that would be someone’s favorite. it wasn’t my favorite but it was good. but it’s someone on here’s favorite. and that’s why i’m so excited for this portion of the project. because someone out there has deep feelings for this music. and they wanted to share it with others. and i got to experience it because of their love. and it was pretty good too!! probably low 4. i much prefer this kind of mid 2010s indie rock to the modern 2020s stuff going crazy right now

Spinvis by Spinvis

wasn’t on board originally but you really start to understand what’s going on like halfway through. cool listen

The Hypnogogue by The Church

i actually really liked this!! kind of felt like if the stone roses were modernized

the vibes were devastating. not as good as Illinois but pretty close in a pretty different way

a truly good and interesting full work that i don’t think would work nearly as well song by song. the album flows very well but no songs were actually GREAT. probably high 3

the caretaker is an interesting artist because they generally have cool, thought-provoking ideas behind the music. i mean look the song titles in this album. but after around 15 minutes of music it all sounds the same. and it’s a fine atmosphere to create but it gets stale if you’re with it too long

Spilt Milk by Jellyfish

this was good!! it hinted at very good now and then but there were a couple almost bad songs so super solid high 3 territory. i did enjoy how they seemed to wear their influences on their sleeve. heard hints of Queen, Beatles, Beach Boys, even some Rush thrown in there while still sounding rather unique

this was super cool! definitely something i’d never heard and never would have heard. shined brightest when there were no vocals but it shined pretty damn bright in those moments. unfortunately the vocals seemed to always be around the corner which makes it so that i can’t give this anything higher than a 3. but this album instrumentally is an easy 4

22, A Million by Bon Iver

i didn’t know this was the type of music this guy made!! pretty cool throughout

Out Of Time by R.E.M.

this was good! nothing special but generally good

Slip by Quicksand
Dec 19 2025

this was hard to get through. every song sounds the same with the horrible scratchy yelling voice and fake tough instrumentals. i jus can’t stand music like this

this was interesting!! went all over the place and some parts were better than others but pretty cool overall

I And Love And You by The Avett Brothers
Jan 08 2026

really is a time capsule but it’s super good!! Kick Drum Heart was one of the first songs i ever learned on drums but this is the first time i’ve actually listened to this album all the way through. very glad to have done it

Ida Con Snock by Michael Hurley

kind of prine esque with an elementary school touch

The Hypnogogue by The Church

Last Splash by The Breeders

completely unremarkable

HEY WHAT by Low
Feb 28 2026

this was interesting. some cool stuff but a lot of songs overstayed their welcome (Hey)

Jaco Pastorius by Jaco Pastorius
Mar 01 2026

i was going to comment something along the lines of how shockingly modern this sounds for being 50 years old but i suppose it’s not that big of a surprise coming from possibly the best bass player to ever exist. this is the first album on here that i think should have made the original list

Crack the Skye by Mastodon
Mar 02 2026

yeah i just can’t get on board with music like this
