He sounds distractingly like Thom Yorke on a lot of the album. Did not enjoy. Putting arpeggiated synths over boring rock music doesn't really make it better.
Side two is a little bit generic hard rock. The "Chinese" riff in A Passage to Bangkok is breathtakingly stupid. Pretty good overall thoug.
"Hot, Blue and Righteous" is about the Navi. "La Grange" is a banger even though it's been overused in pop culture. A lot of the rest is just kinda decent blues rock.
I prefer the early 70s albums, but this is very good. Like all the more experimental instrumental tracks.
Siamese Dream couldn't be on this list? It had to be the 2 hour album? Anyway ... Haven't listened to this album in at least 25 years, so this was kind it a trip. Holds up surprisingly well, though it definitely could've been trimmed down a little bit (why does "Beautiful" need to be on here?). Would be 3.5 stars if I was allowed to give half stars.
Slightly prefer My Aim is True, but this is great.
