I mean. Come on.
Obviously a solid record with quite a few banger tracks like the title track and If You Want Blood, but only my fourth favorite AC/DC record.
Was not in the mood when this came up but how can you resist? I remember buying this at Carson's in '77.
I always thought that these guys were a bunch of fakers. I know the songs, lived through the music in high school at the time and it never clicked. It was dumb and frat boyesque. I have to say, WHOA! It clicked this time. So much so that I pulled my wife's Check Your Held off the CD shelf and hit it and then Paul's Boutique. I'm now a fan. Thanks 1001 Albums Generator.
Well, I missed this record years ago. Stunning. Looking forward to many further listens.
Definitely not for me. The only ambient I want is from its originators.
10 stars. What an amazing record.
Always a great record but better records from Elvis' early career. The hits are undeniable, of course.
Forgot how great this is. Lots of genre mixes but strong country. Chris Hillman!
I appreciate what she is trying to do here. The production is great and I hear the influence of Bjork, Kate Bush and others, on top of the R&B/techno/space thing but it doesn't do much for me.
A classic and certainly, Primal Elvis. How can you resist the hits?
I really wish that modern Hip Hop would look back at its roots. Funny, great production and just a blast.
I mean, come on. Wore the tape out in junior high when it came out. Did I pre-order? I know this back to front and it never gets old. Just an amazing pop rock album of the time with incredible execution by master musicians. Plus, the hits, though I can't imagine a Millenial or Zoomer going for "Mother" (although it is an acquired taste). You had to be there, I guess. Hah hah.
Enjoyed listening to this again as it has been some time. These first few records were just so great and bring back a ton of memories of junior high as they were coming out. Some nice pop songs that were not hits but rather catchy nonetheless. There are also a few filler songs that make this probably my third favorite E&TBM record but still, a timeless classic.
Oh man. Takes me back to that rummage sale when I was 9. What the heck is this? Some adult contemporary smoothness and blistering Hendrix-like, scorched guitar mixed with Elvin Jones like rock drumming? Sure, some boomer memories of the 68 Cinvention here in town, but it was the times, man. Wil always go to bat for this record, especially Beginnings. RIP Terry Kath.
Didn't do anything for me.
