Raw Power by The Stooges

Absolute banger of an album and really showed me some of the origins of bands I’ve liked throughout the years. The influence of the stooges is wider than I had thought. It also helped I listened to this album while driving around Southern California in a truck with the windows down. Felt like I was in Lords of Dogtown :))))

Absolute ripper. Will go back time and time again.

GREY Area by Little Simz

Big ol' fan. I had been recommended a Little Simz song a couple weeks ago from a different album and really enjoyed it so I was pleased to get offered up this one. Super fun, unique music production with all sorts of different vibes and instrumentations. Weird notice but she must have a metronome in her head because she raps so fucking on-beat it's insane. Big fan of all of it. especially 'Offence' 'Boss' and '101 FM'

Relax is obviously a classic but quite played out for me after seen Zoolander 1 trillion times. I definitely was not expecting the Bruce Springsteen cover part of the way through. That was a nice treat. And it is ultimately what saved it from a two star review.

Peter Gabriel by Peter Gabriel

Background music for 40 minutes with a single breath of “oh ok maybe” on the second to last song but that feeling fleeted after 20 seconds and then the album ended. Shrug

Tbh at first I was like "oh yeah I know this guy/this voice/that one song" but then throughout the whole album I was surprised at how many of this dude's songs I knew and recognized. None of them are total bangers imho but I enjoy a good nostalgia dopamine infusion.

Big fat 3 for me. Had some moments of ripping but ultimately just sounded like relatively outdated rock music. I'm sure at the time the album was a bop.
