Creedence Clearwater Revival
I don't know if I've directly heard a lot of these songs, but they have such a classic nostalgic feel to them, probably because of the friend I had back in the day who loved CCR. It's not quite the kind of music I typically like, but "Sinister Purpose" is actually quite nice! I'd totally jam to that in the future. 4/5

Lady In Satin
Billie Holiday
I mean, it is classic. I am not a huge fan of the Standards, as they are, but if this were playing in the background while I have friends over, or at a restaurant or lounge, or if I am working on something... it is quite pleasant.

This is so fun! "Wordy Rappinghood" is just a blast. I recognize "Genius of Love" a little bit, but this is just a fun little album! I like how easy it is to, like, jam to it and it is just good vibes. While a lot ended up on my Ridiculous Music playlist, that is as a positive. Sometimes it's fun to get a little funky and silly and this album really embodies that!

Fiona Apple
Fiona is not quite my music; I think if I listened to her 15 years ago, I would have loved her! Especially with my Emotions™ as a teen and stuff, but it is good, just not for me right now. "Shadowboxer" is good, though not quite my style, "Criminal" is familiar and iconic. I really like "The First Taste" actually! "Carrion" is also good, and also would work well as a song to scream-sing.

A little too folksy for me at times, reminding me a lot of 60s-70s rock (at least "Riddle of the Eighties" and "Liberty for our Friend"). Despite liking a lot of post-punk stuff, I actually do not like this album. It just does not quite connect with me. While "Time With You" isn't too bad overall, I still do not really like it.

Axis: Bold As Love
Jimi Hendrix
I mean, it's great! "Up from the Skies" is just such a nice little funky track, "Spanish Castle Magic" is great, and most of the others are bangers on their own. The guitar of course is the main star here, but Jimi Hendrix's vocals are also quite great!

Not a fan of prog rock, usually, though "Paperhouse" is not bad so far. I unfortunately don't have the time to listen to it fully.

Introducing The Hardline According To Terence Trent D'Arby
Terence Trent D'Arby
Incredibly 80s, like, almost absurdly so. "Wishing Well" is of course instantly recognizable and iconic, but the album in general doesn't quite work for my sensibilities. I do like "I'll Never Turn My Back on You (Father's Words)" however, and "Dance Little Sister" is fun! 3/5

This is not my kind of music. "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere" is.... okay, and I could tolerate it playing in a bar or restaurant I'm at, but this is not what I like. I cannot tolerate any of the other songs.

Protection
Massive Attack
I really like "Protection"! It has really, really good vibes. "Karmacoma" is also really neat, "Weather Storm" has immense vaporwave vibes, and "Three" is actually genuinely so good! I didn't know much about Massive Attack, but this is a great and really diverse album.

Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle
Bill Callahan
I do not like the kind of speaking-singing that is happening here. I am not a fan of that kind of thing, so this does not vibe with me at all. The songs feel like you mashed Seven Swans Sufjan Stevens with Andrew Bird with Magnetic Fields. Despite liking each of those artists individually, I really do not like this.

Live At The Witch Trials
The Fall
Despite listening to a lot of post-punk, I haven't listened to a large amount of punk music, but this is good! "Frightened" is really good, reminding me a little bit of, like, The Cure or Bauhaus, and some Christian Death (to a degree). The other songs are not quite as good, but still fun, and I do like "Rebellious Jukebox." "Repetition" also came up at a weird point since I was trying to write about performance studies theories of repetition. Overall, good punk album, so worth a listen every once in a while, but something I'd actively seek out, not listen to as casually. (4/5)

Night Life
Ray Price
I am not big into this particular style of music, though he does have a nice voice (I can sort of hear my Grandpa in his pronunciation). Definitely not an album I would listen to casually, but if it were playing in a restaurant, bar, or even in a movie, I'd be okay with it! "Night Life" is genuinely good. "Sittin' and Thinkin'" is even actually, surprisingly, good. This is not stuff I usually like, but I think I like his voice enough that my general distaste for country music is overridden. This might be the only actual country album I like. 4/5.
