1001 Albums Summary

some songs in it are better than others, I liked it quite a bit but it feels a bit bloated, stuff like homesick sounds unfinished, it's instrumentals without vocals I feel like. Not bad though overall

actually really liked this one, not super surprised it's here. I think More than a feeling, between the soundtrack, melody, lyrics and the singer's ability to hit those really high notes is an absolute masterpiece in my opinion, and the rest of the songs here are honestly not much worse. I think the only thing I didn't like was Foreplay/Long Time's intro which felt too long (but was cool in its own right), everything else is top tier

Feels very Mazzy Star inspired, I really like this one. Some of these songs have come up in random artist/song radios but I wasn't actually familiar with the artist itself and I'm glad I am now!

I like it a lot but don't love it. Musically I think it's a bit simple which is okay but it seems to come at a time when rock n roll was quite new so it's like looking at a blackberry while you're carrying the newest phone in your pocket. Seeing those early parallels is cool though

I feel like Jay Z is from a generation that was still heavily influenced by the older guard but also slowly paved the way for more modern versions of rap which you can hear a lot here. Pretty cool album
