Nice consistent album, with no particular weak songs. Bluesy, with a lot of backing vocals and strings. The guitar and drum fills keeps the songs interesting. The vocals doesn’t do much for me, though. I haven’t found a glam rock album that I really love yet. Maybe it just takes some getting use to.
I like this one, but it lost me a little bit in the middle. Man I just feel like singing along to the first three tracks.
A mix of “stadium” rock, post punk and folk. I like Bono’s voice. I wouldn’t say it’s technical but it is very expressive and unique. Also like the guitar tone, crisp sound with a lot of delay, and the playing is mostly rhythmic.

A political album. The interludes are too much for me. I do not have any problem with BLM. I am all for it. But instead of actually saying something, they are just repeating the same few points.
Music wise, I get it that it’s trying to mix in different black elements. It doesn’t sound bad, but most of the tracks do not interest me a lot.

Bossa nova is my comfort zone. Everything here is working together to create that nice groove and cozy feel. Stan has this amazing warm tone that is instantly recognizable.
4 is my fave here
I feel like this is a very full album. Mix of elements, dramatic, progressive at times, a lot of production. I enjoyed it.
I know everyone's talking about this, but still, the first thing that caught me is the resemblance between Matt's voice and that of Thom Yorke. Even their chest voice and articulation are similar. But I would say Matt has a more solid head voice and has less vulnerable quality.
(Something about the keyboard in startlight irritates me a bit. Not sure why.

Like the live performance of track 1, long and jammy track 3 and the soulful vocal on track 7. The ballad tracks do not work well for me.

Killer bassline on Good Times. Love the tap dance on My Feet Keep Dancing. Besides the grooves, the backing synths, piano and strings just give the album a nice lush urban feel, which completes the style of the album.
Things are repetitive here, but come on, how can you dance to a 3 min track? You couldn’t repeat a single song back then:)
(Note for myself. I’m changing my rating system a bit to avoid giving everything a 4.🔥👄🔥
The album to listen to as a whole. This is a very well designed album, they are putting a lot of thoughts into building the spacy psychedelic feel(The woozy sound effects, some sparse instrumentals). The use of sampling might be a little bit too straightforward, but using them in rock music was really ahead of its time. I wasn’t paying attention to the lyrics at all, tho.
And the cover art is one of the best.

This is one of my favorite. I highly recommend the Pangaea live album if you’re into this.
And great cover art.
Melodic and memorable songs. The fast tempo, guitar tone and vocal style give it a lot of energy, which I really like. Some of the songs feel samey, tho.
