She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
May 18 2023

'Girls just want to have fun' is still an absolute banger after all these years. Very whiney voice on 'When you were mine'. 'Time after time' is still great too. On first listen nothing really jumps out from the second half of the album, but this could be because the two big singles are so well known already they are hard to stand up too on a single listen.

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
May 19 2023

Got my foot tapping and head nodding from the off, but lyrically it didn't do anything particularly for me, as while it was relatable it felt to obvious and on the nose. The softer moments were forgettable and it was only really when everything kicked in that i was really enjoying.

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
May 22 2023

Everything you would want from an 80's poppy, rocky group. Catchy, fun and quick.

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
May 23 2023

Enjoyed this more than expected. I usually find that I enjoy the influenced more than the influencers, especially when I have listened to the influenced regularly for a long time before listening to the original. The guitar was as expected, but his vocal was really what impressed me more.

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
May 24 2023

I enjoyed some of the sounds on this album, but I find it surprising that they can produce a song a beautiful and meaningful as ‘do you realise’ and then have so much unrelatable nonsense on the rest of the album.

Aja by Steely Dan
May 25 2023

I've only really listened to much earlier Steely Dan before and I enjoyed that much more than this. I found the songs to be rather forgettable with none of them really jumping out at me as something i'd actively listen to again.

Street Life by The Crusaders
May 26 2023

Had literally no idea what this would be like going in, had never heard of the Crusaders before and had no idea who any of the members were. Been enjoying adding a bit of funk into my own music lately, so this was a fun discovery. The opening track is both great, but also too long. I couldn't give more than a 3 because it did just turn into nice background music in the end.

Found myself enjoying this, especially the tracks with appearances with Thom Yorke of Radiohead. Definitely the sort of music I like, but i didn't find any of the songs getting stuck in my head, so would need a few listens to see if anything really sticks.
