1.The queen is dead- The start of the song was a bit weird.. Progressively got better, nice drum beat, mozzies voice is a bit off on this one, nice bass line, overall a bit of a strange start but very true lyrics 7/10 (added to playlist)
2. Frankly Mr. Shankly- very annoying tune, although mozzies voice is decent on this one, nice bass line 4/10
3. I know it's over- mozzies voice is good on this one, nice bass line, bit of a slow song, although overall it was a nice song, with again very true and sentimental lyrics 7/10 (added to playlist)
4. Never had no one ever- I like the instrumental to this one, mozzies voice is also good on this one, very relatable lyrics "I'm alone" maybe to some people "I never had no one ever" you can almost feel the pain in his voice. I like the whistle bit on this song, good drum line and guitar, loved the instrumental interlude, made the song better 7.5/10 (added to playlist)
5. Cemetery gates- started off good, seems like a catchy song, I liked the lyrics on this one, bass line is good and guitar, his voice is good on this one, chorus is very catchy 7.5/10 (liked the song)
6. Bigmouth strikes again- instrumental seems faster than the others, was not keen on the echoed voice in the background, guitar is perf on this one as well as bass and drum fill. this one does seem like a catchy tune. 6/10 (liked the song)
7. The boy with the throne in his side- mozzies voice is good on this one, good instrumental, especially the drums, although his voice does get a bit annoying after a while on this one. 5/10
8. Vicar in a tutu- sounded a bit like a country song, his voice is a bit off on this one, guitar is good, have no idea what he is going on about though lyric wise, the title does me laugh though 4.5/10
9. There is a light that goes out- instantly recognized this one, love the lyrics, strong vocals, good instrumentals, very catchy song. 8/10
10. Some girls are bigger than others- Thought my headphones were broken, as the song faded out for a bit, which I was not a fan of.. love the guitar on this one, and the lyrics very humorous. very repetitive, liked the background vocals of moz on this one, vocals were strong, this song overall does give a nice vibe very 80s, instrumental was wonderful 6.5/10
overall this album averages at a 6.3/10, I purely loved the instrumental of this album sounded very nostalgic and had a good vibe to it. my fav track was "There is a light that goes out" and my least fav was "Frankly Mr Shankly". I would buy this album on cd and maybe vinyl purely for the instrumental and I am not a big fan of mozzies voice, but overall a good album.

4. Parklife- another blur banger, one of my favourite songs of theres, very catchy a good song that overviews Britain, love albarns voice in the chrous-9/10 (added to playlist)

6. Badhead- good guitar rhythm, albarns voice is good, does seem a bit slow, however the instrumental was nice and mellow (liked the song) 7/10

I already own this album on cd however i had rarely listened to it, i do like a few of the songs on this album, but it seemed like a very generic 90s rock album, most of the songs were catchy but some dir have some annoying instrumentals. Fav song- girls and boys least fav- lot 105

2. Remote control- nice guitar, love the vocals, loved the bass upbeat, love the lyrics “they got no money they got no power” amazing guitar solo very suitable not strong, lyrics talk about m/c Britain models which i strongly agree with 8/10
3. I’m so bored with the u.s.a- good beat, and guitar playing, again his vocals are on point, love the lyrics very real talks about society in a raw way, probably about political issues around that time(cold war) catchy (added to playlist) 8/10
4. White riot- nice guitar playing, again very raw lyrics about society, political about power instrumental on point with the song (fast and angry) (liked the song) 7/10
5. Hate & war- instrumentals all on point, again political based lyrics made me laugh! loved the bass 6.5/10
6. Whats my name- upbeat, not too keen on the vocals on this one, but can tell the angst he is expressing, which makes the song seem quite heated (respectfully) does drag a bit 6/10

8. London’s burning- not keen on his voice on this one, seemed a bit annoying, but the instruments were on point which probably saved the song for me as well as the lyrics blatantly taking the piss out of British culture- 5.5/10

11. Protex blue- very fast paced, loved his vocals on this one, nice slight solo, liked the lyrics (liked the song) 6/10

Police and thieves- liked the change in rhythm/beat at the beginning again love the lyrics exposing authorities, vocals not strong for me on this one became a bit annoying, but instrumentals very strong on this one especially bass, loved the layover of guitars near the end, (liked the song) 6.5/10
13. 48 hours- loved the bass on this, seems catchy, however a bit repetitive- 5/10
14. Garageland- not keen on the harmonica, loved the drums on this as well as guitars, loved the backing vocals, “ i dont wanna hear about what the rich are doing” highlight lyric of the whole album liked the vocals on this one, 5.5/10
The album for me was very strong, i loved how it highlighted life in a working class embedded ruling class Britain, which highlights topics about the police, the rich, and what life was like as a w/c person around that time, subjects about the war especially the usa and the cold war were a very valuable moment for me on this album fav song jainie jones and i’m so bored with the usa least fav- london’s burning (didnt hate it)

1. Subterranean homesick blues- good start to the album, very raw inatrumentals and vocals, very upbeat, not keen on the harmonica, love dylans vocals are on key with this one (liked the song) 7/10
2. She belongs to me- not too keen on dylans vocals on this one, but the lyrics are good, again just not too keen on that harmonica and found it quite boring 4/10
3. Maggies farm- loved the instrumental again very raw and upbeat nice vocals (bloody harmonica) did feel a bit repetitive 5/10
4. Love minus zero- love his vocals on this one, very sentimental lyrics, the instrumental goes really well with this one, very soft song that i would play on a date (liked the song) 6/10
5. Outlaw blues- loved the guitar, vocals on point, very upbeat 4/10
6. On the road again- harmonica was a bit much( i really don’t like harmonica lmao) nice guitar and drums though loved the lyrics, 4.5/10
7. Bob dylans 115th dream- loved the laughter and the halt of the song at the beginning, lyrics are almost telling a story that feels so real as you are following alone, really loved that, feels like his personal manifesto i actually didnt mind the harmonica in this one, the song did drag a bit (liked the song) 5.5/10
8. Mr. Tambourine man- liked his vocals, loved the acoustic, 4/10
9. Gates of eden- again nice vocals and brilliant acoustics and amazing lyrics did drag a bit and found it a bit boring- 4/10

Dylans vocals were on point and songwriting wise he is very talented however it was not my cup of tea and found that i was quite bored with the album. Fav song: subterranean homesick blues least fav- cant comment

15. This album overall was good, his vocals are very unique, i think the whole album was consistent, however i felt that most songs sounded the same and the fact that none of the songs were over 3 mins long fav song- judy is a punk least fav- i wanna be your boyfriend

2. Jesus of suburbia- love the rhythm of this song, especially in the first part of this song, vocals on point, love the switch up when the piano and acoustics come in, not too keen on the backing vocals. i love how this song has the different sections like its moving along with a scene in a theatre or film, very theatrical, love how it switches from a fast angry pace to an almost innocent instrumental, love the bass switch up too 8/10 (liked the song)
3. Holiday/boulevard of Broken dreams- (holiday)- love the guitar on this one, very good consistency, Armstrong vocals again killing it, chorus very catchy, love the lyric "another protestor has crossed the line" love the monologue type bit ( bobd) love the switch up to this song, my fav green day song, love the guitar effect throughout the song, lyrics are very relatable vocals amazing, catchy , love the piano notes after first chorus, love how the song gets heavier near the end- 10/10 (added to playlist)
4. Are we the waiting/St. Jimmy- ( awtw)- love the guitar, Armstrong vocals are strong, strong rhythm, love the echoed voices too, chorus is very catchy, love the reference to "Jesus of suburbia", however i did feel like this one did drag a tiny bit, became a bit repetitive ( st jimmy)- love how this song was more faster than the other song, this did feel very pop punk, rhythm was good, however was a bit too fast to keep up with, overall this one did drag a bit- 7/10
5. Give me novocaine/She's a rebel- (gmn)- love the acoustic on this very very nice rhythm, loved the vocals on this, guitar effects were brilliant, loved the guitar solo- (rebel)- again loved the switch up to this one, very upbeat, love the lyrics, love the references to the other songs on this album, loved the drums- 8/10 (liked the song)
6. Extraordinary girl/Letter bomb- (extrod girl)- not too keen on the drums at the start of this song, however I loved the guitar and drums had amazing consistency, loved the lyrics, again was relatable for aspects (no I'm not a prozzie), (letterbomb)- loved the little singalong at the beginning, the build up was good, however was not too fond on the little screech billie let out, I did get a bit bored of this one, found it a little bit weaker than the others-7/10
7. Wake me up when September ends- another green day classic, love Armstrong vocals, a bit of a sad turn for the album, considering the background and lyrics to the song, love the guitar picking, love the gradual build up too, it was fucking amazing, very catchy tune. - 9/10
8. Homecoming- found the start a bit boring, vocals were ok, love the instrumentals, drums and guitars were brilliant, found this one a bit boring, as i thought it did drag a bit- 5/10
9. Whatsername- nice lyrics, loved the rhythm, vocals were on point, love the guitar build up, 6/10
overall this album is truly a masterpiece, being one of my top 10 albums of all time, I have always been amazed by green days work.. the songs are very consistent and love how they all compliment on another, lyrics and theme on post 9/11, American culture and war really show you the real world in just a matter of an album. fav song: holiday/boulevard of broken dreams, least fav: homecoming

I did write a load of notes for this one but I forgot to save it, so not without tracks analysis on this one unfortunately. Overall I really enjoyed this album, I had already heard "black hole sun" and I class that as one of my 10 ten fav songs. The thing that really stood out for me on this alum was Cornell's vocals , they were fucking out of this world on all tracks. This album also made me reflect as there were some darker moments, and especially considering what happened to Cornell, it really made me reflect and appreciate this album even more. Fav song-Black hole sun least fav- There were some songs i did find a bit boring but I don't remember which ones
