Funky kind of island beats with accordions, trumpets, and flutes. Paul sings some poetic storytelling lyrics. Enjoy his calm voice. Really interesting folk-y island-y mix. It hit different when he said “roly-poly bat faced girl”.
Interesting variation between songs, some more upbeat, some dark and artsy. Obviously clear Nirvana inspiration. Deep edgy lyrics masked by what could be pop songs. Doesn’t quite hit like Nirvana, but some memorable songs on here.
Interesting layered vocals (sounds like 3 or 4 people). Relaxed melodies and repetitive sing-along-able hooks/choruses. Reminds me a bit of Queen maybe? Little funk, little electronic.
The clink of plates or silverware in the background really threw me at first. Had to double check if the noise cancelling was working on my headphones. Good background jazz. The bass lines were kind of frantic and odd. The piano is really nice and attention grabbing. Repeating the takes in a row was a strange choice IMO.
Political lyrics. Some jam band-y parts. Interesting layering of vocals. Songs were solid but not overly exciting. Overall didn’t like it AS much as I thought I would.
Spacey funky ass shit. Some soft flowing songs. Nothing to abstract in lyrics. Some interesting instrumental only songs. Lots of boing-y synth sounds. Raspy odd voice. Certainly interesting. “Do You Realize??” is a slapper, brings it up to a ?
Nostalgic nu-metal or rock/rap. Good juxtaposition between Mike rapping and Chester singing. Sometimes comes off as too edgy. Super nostalgic. RIP Chester.
Funky electronic distorted beats. Very mechanical and industrial. Probably wild if your on ketamine. Could be used in a drug fueled montage in a movie. Reminds me of the video game Wipeout. Tough sit down and focus music but good in the background.
A long long time ago in an Irish pub far far away… Simple piano and Don singing softly. Quite a range of topics here: lost love, suicide, etc. But “American Pie” is carrying the weight here. I won’t be back for the rest of the album.
Certainty just old classic “rock”. Nothing too memorable. I knew one song on here. The edgy “shock rock” stuff doesn’t age well. Kind of cringe.
Catchy mystical melodies and airy singing. It’s not quite Yoshida but it’s a good listen.
Funky synths. Basically the best of Michael Jackson, but for some reason it just doesn’t fully excite me. Should probably be a 5 but firing off a 4.
Liked it more the more I let it play. Wasn’t the old school Bruce but some soulful ballad type songs. Could throw it on the background at any point in time.
Love a good funky hip hop instrumental album. I can focus on one sound or listen to them all blend together. Love the continuity between songs.
