Some bangers for sure, a few tracks didn't really hold my attention as much though. Not bad tracks, but not a no skip album for sure.

Guero by Beck
Sep 25 2023

Definitely some Jams on here, but nothing really stood out for me on either listen. It's really good background music, but I don't think I could focus on it through its entirety.

It's poetry for sure. Really showcases some of the roots of country and blues. It's not for me. Too slow, not enough tempo.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Sep 27 2023

Besides the use of the flute, absolutely basic '70s rock. I wasn't really impressed by anything on it. I can't say it felt like it did anything other than calm background dad rock.

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Sep 28 2023

Essential existential 90's Great for a rainy day and questioning reality.

Sep 29 2023

An interesting look into an entirely new culture that was born out of the 80's rap movement as it transitioned into a 90's R'N'B culture. Not something I adored but rhythmically pleasing, though a bit cheesy at times.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac

Absolute classic. Not only does it have some of the greatest singles ever, the album flows with great songs and charisma. Few other bands are able to have multiple lead singers work so well.

Sunday At The Village Vanguard by Bill Evans Trio

I know some people actually like straight Jazz, but I. Am. Bored. My ADHD can not handle this. It's very pretty background music for a sleepy coffee shop. That's it.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson

Really interesting. I can see how pop evolved from this. His pop ballads and groovy rhythms have been continuously referenced and used throughout the history of pop. I enjoyed it, even if much of it is not my style.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits

On the slower more vibe-y side of the 70's. I felt like it holds a lot of great characteristics of the genre and time it comes from, but falls short of great. Made me want to listen to the same genre but better songs.
