Very "Proggy" and pretentious, but a saxophone solo is always a win!
Knew I'd struggle with this as not a hip-hop fan usually. Appreciate all the instrumental stuff going on, although the overlapping vocals was confusing on some tracks
Wish I could do half stars as this was a solid 3.5. Struggled mainly with the vocals.
Didn't think I liked Peter Gabriel but the longer I listened the more this seemed to click. Every song worked for me
Interesting composition on most songs. Electronica Rock is a genre I've never really listened to before and I certainly enjoyed it. More rock songs need Glockenspiels and Cowbells! Think my favourite track was All My Friends
Very generic bluesy rick. Have to say I was a bit disappointed as a ZZ Top fan. All their hits are great but there were a few misses on this album
Knocked a whole star off for the song Right On because the grindy percussion element was an assault on the ears. Was loving the album up until then, each track flowed seamlessly into the next. Great musicality, even for a genre I'm not immediately a fan of
As much as I appreciate how influential The Beatles were for music, they've never been for me. I've always found their music very formulaic (granted they created the formula) when compared to other bands of the '60's like The Kinks and The Rolling Stones and this was no exception. The songs I enjoyed most on this album were their covers of other songs and Don't Bother Me, written by George Harrison which says a lot about what I think about Lennon-McCartney!
Really enjoyed it, love the combination of hip hop and electronica. The sense of rhythm is much more varied than most traditional formulaic hip hop which makes for good listening.
Very weird bit I think that is the intention. Very powerful vocals with a sort of "witchy" feel. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
Tried to view this one without taking into account the controversial nature of Michael Jackson. It's easy to tell why it's the best selling album ever, almost every song is a hit. The Van Halen guitar solo is on of the most iconic in music and obviously Thriller itself is a cultural phenomenon. However, I've knocked 1 point off for Paul McCartney's confusing appearance, and a weak finish as I didn't really enjoy the last 2 songs all that much.
Didn't enjoy at all. Thought I might enjoy it at least musically as I know I can't hack Dylan's vocals but the screechy harmonica solo's pute off
Weird, not at all what I expected. I liked it!
It's fine. Enjoyed the "bouncier" songs, not so much the depressing ones.
Enjoyed it, gave me Rumours era Fleetwood Mac vibes
Really liked it! All the songs worked for me, loved the psychedelic vibe
Is it objectively good... No. Does it have it's issues... Yes. Do I enjoy Nu-Metal... Always! I'm a simple man l, easy 4 for my rock based bias!
It's country music, it's fine.
Very typical late 60's sound, much like other bands of the era, Cream, Hendrix etc. Enjoy how each song leads seamlessly into the next one, almost like a 50 minute guitar solo. Slight lull on the song How You Love and the penultimate Cavalry prevents it being a 5
