Dookie by Green Day
Oct 06 2023

4/5 fun teenage vibes

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Oct 09 2023

Ahead of its time, proto punky

Raw Power by The Stooges
Oct 10 2023

feels like iggy pop is spitting these songs out 2 inches from my face. a blast to listen to

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Oct 11 2023

pretty cool

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Oct 12 2023

Fun listen gives “dad rock” vibes if dad rock was actually cool. many classic tracks I’ve heard before but nice to hear them in the context of an album. also didn’t know they were from el cerrito interesting

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Oct 17 2023

Glassy production. Sounds gorgeous - very 80s though. I don’t necessarily think the 80s were a terrible time for music… but certainly not great. I still have my favorite Smiths, Depeche Mode albums etc etc. A little cheesy, product of the times. Still just plain good pop music and recognizable songs.

Spiderland by Slint
Oct 19 2023

Felt almost demonic couldn’t finish it but might come back later

Illmatic by Nas
Oct 20 2023

Really cool to listen to this and hear the influence it had on not only east coast rap but def west coast rap too. Ahead of its time for sure. Will relisten

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Oct 23 2023

Takes me back to gym class in 9th grade where I listened to this album on my friends zune. Yeah that’s the brick mp3 player … anyways most of the songs didn’t really age well. But who can deny the impact “all the things that I have done” had on teenage brains back then? Unfortunately we can probably blame the killers for bands like imagine dragons existing today and that crime is just unforgivable

Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs
Oct 31 2023

Very chill kinda boring but I would have liked it if I listened when it came out.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Nov 02 2023

Good album. I can see why it’s considering genre defining. Rip kurt

We watched the graduate in my 9th grade English class. This album (and the sound of silence) both captured me. Old Friends is still one of my favorite songs.

The Idiot by Iggy Pop
Nov 09 2023

My favorite iggy album is lust for life but this one is still great. what happens when your creepy uncle and his cool bestie make an album together?

Is This It by The Strokes
Nov 13 2023

Always preferred the fractal cover to the butt cover. It’s so hard not to overstate how impactful this album was. It was such a tight debut, not a single skip. All the hipster kids at my hs worshipped Julian casablancas. This album and room on fire always reminds me of that time in my life. Fav song has to be trying your luck
