Who's Next
The Who
album starts with Baba O'Reilly so ya know it's starting at a high high point. we'll see where the rest of the Who takes us
most of the album was super mid. average lame dad rock stuff and then the baba oriley noises again in the last song for a gyatdang 8 minute build up to the csi miami sound.
overall like a 3 outta 10 on a scale with 1001 other albums, maybe even a 2.
this album sucks
they made a freaking impossibly good song (baba o'riley) and the rest of the album sounds like they were trying to replicate that.
then by the last song they said whateva do the baba o'riley noises YOWWWWWWW 😎😎😎

GREY Area
Little Simz
this album is WAY more interesting than The Who's "Who's Next"
Wounds sounds like a murder mystery soundtrack but with Little Simz rapping over it
101 FM is so boppy haha the beat is so fun and sounds like a traditional Japanese song turned into a video game soundtrack plus Little Simz nonchalant drill rapping
aight I've listened to this album at least 3 times today and it's pretty darnnn good. it feels kinda jazzy and Little Simz makes rapping sound so easy.
i doubted the 1001 albums yesterday but I'll be darn tootened if i wasn't excited for the next one. the quality of GREY Area seems a lot higher after The Who. the delivery is effortless and exceptional, the content of the raps is funny but I need to listen more to get a deeper meaning. interesting and exciting beats make this album a fun one to listen to, Little Simz always sounds like she's gaining power like a shonen character.

Thriller
Michael Jackson
ok so this album starts off with an absolute slapper of a track. out of the 9 songs on the original, five of them hold near and dear places to my heart. the other half of the album is very lackluster and boring in comparison.
Baby Be Mine is the one of the lesser half that could definitely grow to be a personal hit given some more listens, the beat is crazy funky. it's like a higher tempo version of the next song (the Paul McCartney collab) with a little more going on.
Human Nature is cute and not a terrible song but it's pretty hard to follow Thriller, Beat It, then Billie Jean. Same for the last song, it's a goood jam but not as good as PYT right before it.
obviously this album is pretty fantastic and the highs are extremely high and the lows are higher than a lotta artists ever get, but the perfection and range of the higher tempo songs makes the lower tempo tracks meld together into one big R&B mush.

The Stone Roses
i listened to this while i was biking home. super mid. two tracks stood out and only because there was some semblance of s bass line.
i def need to listen again and give it a fair evaluation but it really was super middle of the ground. at least Who's Next had Baba O'Rily and the CSI song. but this album being so mid makes me also want to give it 3 stars.
the first song takes like a full minute to start smh. the last song is pretty cool but it's 10 minutes long. Song For My Sugar sounds like I might have liked it if it was in the Shrek soundtrack.
it's probably because I've heard music that was made after this and NOT in a garage but this album just strikes me as so mid in every way. I wanna listen to 60s rock or 90s+ rock and these guys found the middle ground and i HATE it. but that might be exactly what you want. booooring.
i listened more and this album would be a good one to grow on but not something that strikes me as immediately gripping.

this is the first album of the 1001 that I would say sounds pretty, there's a lot of "good" music and it's not super boring (mostly)
I think with more listens this album would definitely grow on me and I like the sonic style he's got going. I'll definitely return to this album at some point. Gypsy woman is a banger
