ok so this album starts off with an absolute slapper of a track. out of the 9 songs on the original, five of them hold near and dear places to my heart. the other half of the album is very lackluster and boring in comparison.
Baby Be Mine is the one of the lesser half that could definitely grow to be a personal hit given some more listens, the beat is crazy funky. it's like a higher tempo version of the next song (the Paul McCartney collab) with a little more going on.
Human Nature is cute and not a terrible song but it's pretty hard to follow Thriller, Beat It, then Billie Jean. Same for the last song, it's a goood jam but not as good as PYT right before it.
obviously this album is pretty fantastic and the highs are extremely high and the lows are higher than a lotta artists ever get, but the perfection and range of the higher tempo songs makes the lower tempo tracks meld together into one big R&B mush.
