The Stranger
Billy Joel
Maybe a 5 is too high, but even if some songs don't reach the heights of The Stranger or Vienna, they all flow together to create a beautiful, cohesive story. My favorite Billy Joel album by far.

Justice
Loved the first three tracks, but unfortunately after those it meandered into several generic electro dance tracks that favored style over substance. Thankfully the final few songs were pretty good.

Stand!
Sly & The Family Stone
Don't have a whole lot to say. I liked it. It sounded like standard funk music, granted good standard funk music. I did some research and Sly and the Family Stone apparently influenced a lot of later funk music, with Stand! being one of their most prominent albums. Their 1969 Woodstock performance was also dope, and they performed the songs better there than on this album. Anyways 3/5 lets go.
Also Sex Machine wtf

Sign 'O' The Times
Prince
Some tracks (especially in the first half) dragged on for way too fucking long, and ironically enough the 9-minute "It's Gonna be a Beautiful Night" justifies its length more than some 4- or 5-minute tracks. Final few songs were great. Liked it overall.

Fuck it I liked it. I was dreading listening to 40 minutes of British folk music and was ready to absolutely fucking despise this but I actually really liked it.

Nilsson Schmilsson
Harry Nilsson
I LOVE IT WHEN EVERY SONG ENDS BY FADING OUT IT'S MY FAVORITE WAY TO END A SONG I LOVE HOW THEY KEEP DOING IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN
"Without You" is a good song, "Gotta Get Up" is solid, and then "Jump Into the Fire" has its moments. Everything else is generic bullshit or worse. Apparently The Beatles cited Harry Nilsson as the 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 American singer AND LYRICIST. Which sure, I guess "she put de lime in de coconut, she drank 'em bot' up" is an all-time classic and thought-provoking lyric that The Beatles themselves thought they absolutely had to praise Nilsson for his genius (not to say there aren't good lyrics on this album, but holy shit most of them are so fucking dull or downright awful). Fuck this album, and especially fuck Coconut, the fact that that song was popular enough to be widely broadcast on radios is fucked up. No wonder boomers are fucked up.

The Hives
Aside from "Hate To Say I Told You So," nothing really stands out. It's a constant barrage of post-punk, and that's not a bad thing, it just doesn't push boundaries in any way. Also doesn't help that it's a compilation album... All in all, it's fun but I probably won't ever think about it again.

Electric Ladyland
Jimi Hendrix
When this album hits, it fucking hits. All Along the Watchtower, Long Hot Summer Night, 1983 (A Merman I Should Be), Voodoo Child (Slight Return), the last third of Voodoo Chile. That being said, sometimes the album meanders a bit too much away from the groove, as opposed to getting lost in it. Still a classic, but not Hendrix's best work.
