Jagged Little Pill
Alanis MorissetteAngsty but polished. The vocals become a little tiring through a whole album but some really good tracks. Big slice of 90s nostalgia in a really good way.

Angry, wierd, funny. Very few low moments, great dynamic range. Keeps up the punch all the way through.
The beats are great. The vibes are good. The lyrical themes are, at this point, pretty tired. A classic for its time, very influential, and still very listenable but not very captivating.
Fantastic album all around. An absolute classic. Feels so much fresher and more exciting than so much of the other late 60s psych stuff.
Sadly a very forgettable record. The considerably better second half comes too late to save what it is an inoffensive but bland and overly long album. There are some nice tracks in amongst it all but moments of real interest are few and far between.
Interesting piece of history, you can hear the band developing the idea of their sound. It is however, a covers album and ultimately I probably would rather listen to other artists play most of the tracks.
I was surprised by this one. The only song I knew was Babylon which has been so overplayed that it's hard to judge without bias. The rest of the album however is a very heartfelt singer songwriter underwritten by some strong electronic details that keep it rich and interesting.
There are bands today still trying to recreate the sound and intensity of this record. You can hear the DAN of so many hard rock and metal genres forming in the incredibly brief run time of this album. Loved it. Gnarly.
Lots of great stuff on this album and many tracks I will be happy to hear again. Interested to explore more of his work as I suspect I will enjoy it.
It's a fun album full of energy, great fuzzy guitars. Not their best but a very solid first release.
Didn't enjoy this as much as I hoped. It's a nice album but nothing about it really grabbed me. Strong 5 to a light 6/10
This record was a mixed bag for me. There's musical ideas all over this thing that I love. The drawback is often Cave's (unarguably impressive) vocal performance. It's so cabaret at times that I struggle to connect with his narration. He's often playing a character but it's often a character so repulsive that it can make it a tough listen. Some of his vocal inflections are in general just a little irritating to me despite his very skilled performance. There's more to like than dislike on this thing so overall I give it a decent 7.
A pretty campy, musical theatre style classic rock album. It's well played and it's fun in a tame sort of way. There's nothing to dislike about the album but nothing I loved either I think I'm just at least 15 years too old for it. A light 4/10
A few really good tracks and a nice overall vibe
Well produced album with some skillful playing but ultimately a little flat
Really not my thing overall. Some nice moments but much too needlessly flashy and not much substance behind it. Was nice to hear the version of America but prefer the original by a long stretch.
It's full of bops. Obviously the hits are great but the rest of the tracks are solid too. So familiar that it'll never be in my regular rotation but it's iconic and had really stood the test of time.
Totally new to me. Really nice guitar playing all over this thing. Still sounds pretty fresh and exciting. A really nicely maturing punk sound. The lack of many really standout tracks keeps it at a 3 but it's a high 3
It's so dumb it's clever. The samples, the beats, the instrumentation are all really well done. Without the production and the infectious energy they put into it this album would be unbearable. As it is it's really fun. Strong 7
It's a classic for a reason, yes the themes are a little tired and the sex skits are...a bit much but the beats and the rapping are amazing. A really strong 8/10
