1001 Albums Summary

I enjoyed the album but won't be listening again. My only highlights are Borrowed Tune, New Mama and Tired Eyes. Tired Eyes goes HARD and is fantastic. Generally, I think the feeling of the album is one of trying to reach something but not quite getting that. Good for background music, maybe.

This was pretty good. I love The Kinks' sound, and this album feels like where they really find it. The themes are strong and they're present in every song. I'm not sure if the album is trying to be a caution against nostalgia or is itself struggling with the present, but either way, it's great.

this really became background listening to me but I LIKED it as background listening. Cloud Nine was a great opener and it faded into the bg from there.

It was pretty good but so of its time—and that's a time I don't listen to much of! It does feel like it encapsulates the era in some ways—adjacent vibes with Nelly, Saul Williams, Eminem. I enjoyed it but no songs that I'm screaming out for.

It was really nice to hear a rock album, and one with a lot of variance like this. You can hear what comes before and after it.
