first time listening to hendrix aside from the Greatest Hits - immediately understand how/why the guitarists i love cite him as an inspiration. feels like the musical version of when i watched 2001 a space odyssey for the first time and realized virtually everything ive ever watched was just a reference to that film - castles made of sand.. FUCK !!! - theres an art to making a song short and sweet but these are pinkpantheress song lengths and i wish some of these had like an extra 30 seconds - this being recorded in the 60s doesnt make sense to me. insane
oh this went crazy. i can recognize the artistry in most of these classic albums but i barely ever save them to listen to casually. however... "i talk to the wind" immediately went in the library. THE FLUTE...? absolutely also i dont know if its a crime for album covers to influence my rating but its just too good for me to not talk about it
ive loved jazz for years but i will admit i am not a great example of a jazz fan bc i love me some serene quiet moody jazz. so as u can imagine disc 1 kinda stresses me out, disc 2 im obsessed with. sanctuary is SOOO good it has such a good build up, 100% my favorite off of this one. also i keep rating these albums 4s but the more albums i listen to the more i wish i could go back and change my other ratings D:<
my first foray into rolling stones... exciting steps gimme shelter seems like the fan favorite and i get it, the GUITAR man... violent, moody, a song that wouldn't exist without its context. call me cliche but faves are definitely gimme shelter and you cant always get what you want. what can i say im a man of the people ! (also another 4 rating im so sorry i just like music. forgive me)
i hate how much i like the smiths. i actively avoid listening to them because every time i press play im charmed against my will. this is the worst thing thats ever happened to me fave: stop me if you've heard this one before
i think i hauve covid
first time ive listened to sinead besides nothing compares 2 u and oh mein gott... cried like twice going thru this black boys on mopeds & you cause as much sorrow... aaaaaaaaaaaa
had a 2-3 week period a few years back where i only opened spotify to listen to sing about me im dying of thirst. measured my commute time by 4 Sing About Me Im Dying of Thirsts
my deepest darkest most shameful secret is that lorde's indie accent makes me giggle a lil bit. i wanna be cool and melodramatic too but some primordial part of my brain keeps getting distracted by how throaty she is anyways good album! faves r green light + supercut + perfect places
i think ive tried this album like 6 times based on recommendations but every single time im hit with the fact that she makes overwhelmingly millennial music and im just gonna have to accept that it almost always is not for me
my blood phobia used to be so bad i couldnt listen to this band without gagging but im built different now cant speak to the artistic merit bc im doing a very preliminary listen + i get ravenous about shoegaze during winter so im biased but. ohhhhjhhhh its gonna be in rotation from now on for sure
