very good, though a little repetitive

they say this is one of the top 10 albums - an answer to sgt peppers. one of my favorite songs ever (sloop john b) is on this record along with maybe two other hits, but everything else is kind of monotonous. i think the rest of the good beach boys stuff is sprinkled across their discography. if you consider sgt peppers, every single one of the songs on that record is a classic… who do you think won?

this is like the secret love child of tom petty and simon lebon. “girls and boys” is very decade and i’m getting some british invasion vibes from “tracy jacks”. very kinks and the who. i appreciate a group with range. will be putting this on the heavy rotation.
