Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Nov 02 2023

Amazing to hear this again after all the years. I sang pretty much the whole of this on my way to school walking down Worple Road.

British Steel by Judas Priest
Nov 03 2023

Seriously surprising. Never rated metal and ripped the piss out of friends who did at the time, but there are a lot of bangers on this album. Not sure when / if I'll listen again, but glad I did.

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Nov 04 2023

Played, but kind if got lost in the background. One to give your full attention to maybe.

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Nov 09 2023

Bof! Couple of good-ish 80s poppy rockers but a lot of filling. Nostalgia trip, but not in a good way.

Parklife by Blur
Nov 11 2023

Love it. Sound of my second youth.

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Nov 14 2023

Cracking from start to finish. Phased me that Atmosphere is included in the playlist and jolted me out of my listening, but great always.

The Score by Fugees
Nov 15 2023

Surprisingly allright. Zoned out for a few tracks but was a very happy listener for the most part.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Nov 16 2023

Fab! First album so far that I didn't already have that I want to get.

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
Nov 21 2023

It's got Sabotage. What else is there to know?

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Nov 25 2023

First album I ever bought. Sure, all my friends were into punk (as was I, but not in a huge way) but Sultans of Swing was on the pub jukebox on a happy holiday and I loved it. It took a few more years to become truly rebellious in musical taste. Listening again after many, many years, I was still singing along with most of the songs.

The Next Day by David Bowie
Dec 02 2023

Poor. Not a hint for me of his former genius. Disappointing.

Sep 05 2025

Really don't like Queen! Hate Brian May's guitar, which is weird as I quite liked it at the time. Way more eclectic than I'd have thought, but that's not necessarily a good thing. The mish-mash of styles means the album doesn't hand together as a cohesive whole. You're My Best Friend is the stand out for me: BR is just too familiar (again, loved this as a 10yo and was the song of choice coming back from rugby matches). Production goes up to 11; again, not great for me.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Sep 06 2025

While Mr. Blue Sky is a banger, the rest is a trifle meh. I remember being so disapointed that the group that did that awesome song came back with Wild West Hero, which is a dirge. Not a plus or minus, but a lot of the songs do start very quietly...

Think I bought the CD when it came out and barely listened to it. That was a mistake! Great album full of crackers and you're never sure what's going to happen next.
