Fear Of Music
Talking Heads
Some songs feel like they lull a bit. I like the album overall, as who doesn't like the Talking heads. This album has interesting sound choices and good orchestration but I find at times it gets too slow and almost feels like I am trying to get it to pick up the pace (songs like Drugs specifically, there's a lot I like about the song but find myself waiting for more until 4 minutes in???) Maybe I relisten to it later and my opinion changes, but for now I'd say I don't feel super strong about the album in either direction, I definitely lean more on the side of liking it, but might just need to give it a few more listens. I just feel what this album does well, I can find it far better in some other places. But it's highs do hit at times, and I feel kinda torn. Overall not a bad liisten, something I might grow to love.

Tea for the Tillerman
Cat Stevens
If an album was a much needed hug during a hard time in life, this is it. Warm and gentle, yet still so grand in it's presentation, I was pleasantly surprised by how much of this album I liked! There wasn't a single song that was a real let down to me, though I will say stand out tracks are easily it's opening track "Where do the Children play?" and "Father and Son", it's title track "Tea for the Tillerman" is also a phenomenal closer to such a beautifully somber and cozy album. Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes albums like Bob Dylan's "Freewheelin' Bob Dylan". Love this and I've definitely become a new Cat Stevens fan!

Reggatta De Blanc
The Police
Definitely an interesting choice for this list. I wish I liked this album more, as 2-tone and the English Ska movement has some of my favorite sounds in music and I was excited to hear more from The Police. My excitement quickly faded as I heard the most repetitive, bland, derivative music I've ever heard. I could easily find every sound, tone, and melodic progression in other Ska/Reggae music from the 1st and 2nd wave movements that sound much better than they do here. Not a terrible album, but I think it's a bit of a waste when there is much better 2 tone out there like Madness or The Specials. Definitely not something I'd recommend to anyone trying to get into 2-Tone/Ska/Reggae. Also "White Reggae"?! Come the fuck on lmao, just focus on getting the reggae part down first before trying to make it about your Skin color man.

Deep Purple In Rock
Deep Purple
Already love Deep Purple, so when I got this album, I knew I was in for a treat! Definitely not as enjoyable as their hit album "Machine Head", but still a phenomenal Hard Rock album. Great choice opening with "Speed King" and ending with an interesting onslaught of sounds on "Hard Lovin' Man", I specifically enjoy the key in the 2:17-3:05 section. There was some tracks I didn't feel a strong love for, but I don't think I could ever consider them awful, just less of my taste compared to the rest of what this album has to offer! Thank you for the great music Deep Purple!

In Utero
Nirvana
I grew up hearing this album most of my life, and finally coming back to it as an adult is definitely interesting! I want to start by saying, I grew up heavily fed Nirvana's sound and over time have found myself so disconnected from them. They're not bad, nor would I even say I think they're not enjoyable music, in fact I respect everything Nirvana and Kurt Cobain did for music and enjoy a couple songs of theirs! However my feelings towards Nirvana have not changed much since my older teen years. I can definitely tolerate their sound more and can take larger steps back to enjoy their music for myself than I used to be able to. But I still find myself bored out of my mind and ready to change records the second I hear them come on. It's all overplaying for me, I wish I didn't have Nirvana tainted for me in my brain, but I do and I'm stuck not enjoying their stuff, but respecting that it is good at least! Stand out songs for me on this album are "Heart-Shaped Box" "Dumb" and "Milk It"

Sufjan Stevens
Not a bad album at all! Was surprised how much I enjoy the beginning of this album! It was fun, bright, and had some interesting musical choices! However, about halfway through, I found myself bored. I ventured on and realized we're kinda treading the same ground in the latter half. Not bad at all, but definitely wears you out with it's sound and somewhat overstays it's welcome and by the end, you're wandering if the whole thing needed to be a 1 hour and 14 minute experience. I enjoy what it has to offer more than I dislike it! But definitely wouldn't go out of my way to listen to this album another time.

Frampton Comes Alive
Peter Frampton
Peter Frampton makes great music, Doobie Waah off this album was the highlight for me. But God it being a noisy ass live album made this a slog to get through.

Method Man
Great samples and sound, with great lyrics and flow, which is expected from a Wu-Tang member on his debut album after creating the excellent Enter the Wu-Tang. I will say I enjoy this album more than Wu-tangs, as I enjoyed Method Man's verses on that album a lot, and feel that this doesn't have some of the other performances that might take away from his lyrical and rap work. (I'm looking at you Dirty Old Bastard) Overall really happy this was today's album, as I never looked into Wu-tang members and their solo careers, and now I feel like I might have to. Very nostalgic sound for me, and definitely an album that will be in my rotation for years to come.

Peter Gabriel
I noticed some bass sections that felt very familiar and a lil weird (in the good way) and even some sounds that felt very familiar, like I'd heard them somewhere else in the same era. That's when the truth smacked me in the face , of course I know that bass sound and some of these other sounds, in fact they're off of King Crimson's Triple album suite "Three of a Perfect Pair" (Discipline, Beat, Three of a Perfect Pair), and that has to be Tony Levin! And it was! I will say most of this album is a lil too 80's for me (I really hate the 80's nostalgia thing IDK I'm more of a 60's 70's guy), but it has some great standouts like "Sledgehammer" and "Don't Give Up", though "Mercy Street" also has some amazing sounds and I think overall, it's a good album with some great moments. I might have to give this another listen, but I enjoyed the package as a whole.

I absolutely loved the lyricism and composition of this album. One I will keep in my catalogue for years to come and one I will recommend to anyone looking for great music or just a solid album experience

Reign In Blood
Slayer
Its a solid album with some amazing tracks on it. Not fully my thing, but I liked it more than I thought! The opening track, Angel of Death, and Jesus Saves were definitely 2 stand out tracks I plan on revisiting and adding to a playlist or 2
