Pet Sounds
The Beach BoysStill an unbelievable album. Not much new to say here that hasn't been said before, but the production still shines just as brightly as it did the first time I listened to it.

Some interesting ideas on this album, but I felt it never really came together. It seemed inspired to be more interesting than a melodic alt-pop record, but never seemed to achieve either. Girl from Mars is a bop, and I think the right mix of what they were going for between melody, pop, and more interesting instrumentality.
Enjoyed this album. A really solid blues and soul set with some great production and even better singing. Burke's voice is incredible and the lyrics hit all the right marks of a classic soul album.
I love the Afghan Whigs and I really liked re-listening to this album. This album kind of shows the group figuring out the right mix of ingredients for their sound, which I think gets better and better with each release. If you listen to this and "1965"--which is chock full of hits--you will be very confused why they didn't have a bunch of number 1 hit singles and make it into the big time.
Really really liked this album. I feel like this is a very accessible Cohen album and the production of lightly strummed kind of lo-fi guitars really pairs well with his voice and poetic verses.
This album had been on my “to listen” list for along time and holy hell am I mad I waited this long. An absolutely incredible album. I love the low-fi 60s style production and the pop melodies mixed with beautiful guitar work. I went in expecting some generic Brit pop and came out absolutely wowed.
I have never really gotten LCD Soundsystem and they continue to just not be my jam. This album is probably the closest I've come to enjoying their music because they sometimes rely less on disparate spoken word-like lyrics in favor of actual melody in songs like "oh baby," but I still continue to mostly struggle to get through their work.

Just really could not get into this. There's a couple "fun" Offspring songs, but the general production and singing is really off-putting to me.
This album had much more interesting guitar work than I usually associate with Dire Straits, but I still find their sound very flat overall.
Some interesting stuff and I’m sure it was more influential when it came out, but this is just so not my vibe. If youre gonna go krautrock, give me Can over Kraftwerk all day.
