1001 Albums Summary

Never heard this one before. Streamed it on Spotify. Vocal jazz live album. An intimate laid back performance with a lower fidelity recording quality to it. I love the atmosphere this one creates. It really transports you to a small, smokey lounge. There is even the occasional background and ambient crowd noise picked up in the recording other than just moments of applause. The performance here really captures your attention as you feel she is singing to you personally. I would definitely love to listen to this one again and may look to find a copy on vinyl although it looks like this version only has the first half of this 70+ minute performance.

Have heard this before and love it. Great to listen again. Surprising don't own in my collection but may change that soon. A blues classic and I think the live setting here really complements Muddy's powerful vocals. Full of energy and everything you want from a blues record.

I have this on vinyl so got to spin it instead of streaming. First half is great Bowie pop but the second half is what makes it unique. Some very long synth soundscapes with very minimal vocals. Not the most listened to Bowie in my collection...but I always forget how much I love to get lost in the sounds on this one

Great guitar psych rock album. Much more familiar with his first album but this one is just as great!

High energy and great solos throughout. Perfect music to play as loud as you can...it really rocks. I find myself listening to Machine Head more but this album is just as great!

Lots of recognizable songs but it was really nothing too special. I think some of their later albums are just more interesting.

This is my favorite Dire Straits. Have this on vinyl and listen to it often. Incredible guitar work throughout.

This albums has some of their biggest hits and it is so funky but always felt it was a little too long but it is peak Chili Peppers and one of the most important 90s albums. However I still find myself listening to Californication more.

This album is worth listening to for This is The Day alone.

Never heard this one but like it on initial listen. This feels like a album that has a lot to dive into. Not really something you put on to listen with friends over. Very heavy subject material and history surrounding. Definitely putting this on my list to listen to again but that will most likely be when I am by myself.

Classic album. Usually the first Aretha album I grab to play

I enjoyed this one. Reminds me a lot of a less polished Weezer without the radio hits. Didn't come away after a listen with any particular song stuck in my head. Would definitely listen to more of this one in the future of I ever remember to think about it
