Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Jan 04 2024

Solid album. I wasn't very familiar with Janis' work before this but I can see why Janis eventually went off to have her own. Technically sound, and I personally like the live album gimmick, but it's not something I think I would revisit. "Piece Of My Heart" is a classic though.

Boston by Boston
Jan 05 2024

Another solid offering, one I've heard over bits and pieces over the years. Although probably massive at the time I think it's probably a little dated. Some bangers/classics on this for sure.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 06 2024

Lots of songs I never heard that really makes you appreciate Marley outside of the mainstream songs that are always on rotation. Excellent, no notes.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Jan 07 2024

Apart from one song (you know the one) not exactly memorable, but I understand their historical significance. Just wish the album could match. Still, progressionally and sonically well done.

Be by Common
Jan 08 2024

Classic record. This era of Kanye has always been a favorite of mine, and this album is no exception. Jazzy, clean, and soulful. Grateful to get a chance to listen to this again all the way after so many years. Realisitically a 4.5

OK Computer by Radiohead
Jan 09 2024

Easiest 5 I'll put on this. I've lost track of the number of times i've listened to this in full over the years. However, to me Kid A will always be closer to my heart. Dense and brilliant songwriting with production to match. One of the best ever.

Eternally Yours by The Saints
Jan 10 2024

This rules why the hell didn't I know about it before?

Jan 12 2024

This is fine. The songwiriting and muscianship is obviously good, but I can't say I was ever really wowed even in the context it was released.

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp
Dec 18 2024

I'd give this a 3.5 if I could. Some standout tracks ("Remind Me"), and an overall consistent vibe that I give a good to great.

Chore of Enchantment by Giant Sand
Dec 19 2024

Right up my alley but I don't know if this is something I will revisit. The atmosphere is great, as well as the production. Everything has it's place nothing feels too busy.

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Dec 20 2024

The amount of times I've listened to this in the past, it would be hard to not be biased. Admittedly (before listening) the album can be a bit all over the place but that's also part of the charm! Demon Days perfected the projects of formula of pulling from all sorts of influences, but this laid the foundation for it. Great album with some absolute classics that still stand out, but there's a few areas that feel more likely sketches.

Is This It by The Strokes
Dec 21 2024

Full of bangers, and some of catchiest songs you'll ever hear.
