1001 Albums Summary

My favorite Led Zeppelin album is the last Led Zeppelin album I listened to. Like any double album, Physical Graffiti suffers from filler, but Jimmy Page’s guitar never sounded hornier. “The Wanton Song” fucks.

Very much not for me, but I can appreciate the artistry, and cultural and historical importance.

More a collection of sound experiments than I remembered, though Byrne’s unique repetition of certain sounds and phrases is entrancing — “tune this - elec - tric - gui - tar.” “Life During Wartime” and “Memories Can Wait” could carry the worst of albums. Fortunately, Fear of Music is not that.

Five stars for sake of 4 1/2 not being available. But I’m not hatin’—truly one of the great albums of its time, both as a meme and IRL.

An American institution

Like Gorillaz, only not good. An album I did not need to hear before I died.

This project favors a specific genre and I have no complaints
