Blunderbuss by Jack White

I tried listening at 7am and didn’t like it. I had to be okay with Jack melting my face off and I just wasn’t ready to surrender. Whether it’s the mind scrambling guitar solo in Freedom At 21, your ears falling off in missing pieces, or the knife twisting genty in Love Interruption, Jack knows how to alter your state of mind towards the introspective with his musical and lyrical prowess. I feel like this man had a love that shredded him to his foundational components. Almost like he was shot with a Blunderbuss. Ah, this 2012 album makes sense now: In June 2011, White and his wife Karen Elson, who provided backing vocals for Blunderbuss,[8] announced their intention to divorce and subsequently held a divorce party. I mean, good for them. She’s got great backing vocals.
