1001 Albums Summary

I didn't know "We're Gonna Be Friends" was by the White Stripes. I just remember how much it stood out in the movie Juno. I like it. "I Think I Smell A Rat" made me laugh, but I wouldn't really want to listen to it but maybe once a year.

I thought I would have heard all of this music before but a lot of it was new to me. It was a little depressing at times, but also quite beautiful. It made me think of a time that is now lost, and a lot of nostalgia for a world before electronics took over.

I just can't do it. I wanted to see if I could understand the appeal but it made me feel irritable. It is not for me.

The album art is so very bad. I listened to most of the album and a lot of the lyrics are beautiful. It just isn't my taste. I don't really like his voice.

An interesting soundscape but not my thing. Too much sampling. I did enjoy Frontier Psychiatrist.

Not a fan.

Sooo much harmonica and way too much organ. I don't enjoy his vocals. What else can I say?

I love this album. I know the major hits of course but there were several I'd never heard and were really impressive. Witness stood out especially.

It's a lot of layers. It was good to hear the familiar songs, but Darling Nikki just felt sleazy to me. I also couldn't get all the way through the end of Purple Rain. It just gets overwrought.

Sort of psychedelic and made me think of the Dead. I rather hated it.

Nope, not my thing at all.

I enjoyed it as background while I was working. I wouldn't pick it on a regular basis though.
