1001 Albums Summary

Such a fun listen. Not every song is perfect, but there are enough great ones for this album to be 5 stars for me. Arguably Elton’s peak vocals.

Little all over the place for me.

This album feels like such an early grunge knock-off. The only reason it’s not a 1 star is because of the small hints at originality towards the end of the album.

Sounds like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin had a baby.

The instrumentals pair perfectly with Joplin’s powerful voice. There are lots of subtle genre infusions on this album, and I did not expect that. The authenticity and raw power make this a fun listen.

Beautiful jazz and funk instrumentals paired with infrequent but quality vocals. There is a lot of music like this from this era, but I don’t care. The execution is worthy of high praise.

Super interesting. There’s a lot going and it all works. I think this is one I need more time with to decide if it’s maybe 5 stars.

I just love Morrisey’s voice so much. It’s so unique. I could just leave this album on all day.
