Listening statistics & highlights
While this album epitomizes the AC/DC sound for me, there's a degree of similarity to the tracks that makes this feel more like a 'Best Hits' effort than an album. Fortunately the tracks themselves are able to stand on their own and pack a decent punch each time.
Nice shoegaze..overstayed it's welcome maybe in terms of album length Definitely merit to doing this as an album, there is a clear personality and distinction between different tracks on the album
"Seinfeld is unfunny" effect galore. You really need to "put yourself in the shoes of the listener of the time" to get this, and to me that's already an exercise that borders on condescension.
This is a tad unrefined compared to the greatness of the album that followed it, but still a big improvement over Pablo, some indication of where Radiohead saw themselves in the 90s grunge-ish rock scene. The album itself doesn't have nearly the thematic depth that OKC would show, but makes a decent-enough comment on fame to justify its existence as an album.
