1001 Albums Summary

I'm not sure I can describe why I don't love this album. It's "nice", but overall too smooth for me. I will say it flows very nicely.

A masterpiece from a maniac. His 2nd best, next to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

I've always liked but not loved Led Zeppelin. Their first album is the only one I owned when I was young, but I did play it quite a bit. So far on this one, "Since I've Been Loving You" is the standout track. I think I've not gotten into this album because of "Immigrant Song". I've never liked that one and never gotten past it. "Bron-Y-Aur-Stomp" was in heavy rotation for me as a child as well.

Some nice harmonies and orchestral arrangements, but this is a miss for me. One revelation: Jens Lekman sampled “Do you wanna dance” in his song “Maple Leaves”.

Feels like I can’t fully rate this on one listen. While it’s not typically my thing I appreciate the singular vision of the sound that they went for. Very bleak and reverby. Standout track: Wilderness

This is a fun album, though very top heavy. I lost interest by the end. Standout Track: End of a Century (this was totally new to me and I love it!)

First time I’ve given this a full listen in a long time. Flawless album. First 5 star album for me in this project. Standout tracks: Revolution Blues, Ambulance Blues
