Joan Baez by Joan Baez
Jan 21 2024

Prelude: Can't believe I haven't heard of Joan before, but I knew I was going to like this album when I played a clip before I left Annapolis. Acoustic folk especially from that era is a soft spot for me. The album was pleasant overall and her rendition of House of the Rising Sun was a dope surprise. Nice background music for knitting by the fireplace while the snow pours down outside (if that was something I was into). If I'm allowed to make comparisons, she reminds me of Joni Mitchell but twice as haunting in her voice.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jan 23 2024

A lot of my favorite RHCP songs on this album. Not nearly as funky as ones before but extremely enjoyable rock nonetheless. Original as any of their albums. Great listen for me always.

The Grand Tour by George Jones
Jan 24 2024

Wouldn't necessarily add it to my playlist but appreciate it for what it is. A quintessential country record that'll make a cowboy cry. My favorite part is the intro. Step right up, Come on in.

Rain Dogs by Tom Waits
Jan 25 2024

This dude has seen some shit Most of this sounds like it would be playing in some smoky underground club where all the spooky creatures hang out in a dark animated movie. While I couldn't get past his singing at all, I thought his range in styles/genres was impressive

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Jan 26 2024

Pretty cool sound. I'm not even sure what I would call the genre. Lion thief was my favorite song. The dog barking was an interesting element

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Jan 27 2024

Cmon now. Loaded album. Chains is the only song I have in my library though; just not into FM as much.

Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
Jan 28 2024

Generally wasn't easy to listen to for me. The vocals just didn't sound good on top of their music. But I did enjoy some of the instrumental guitar and strings

The Libertines by The Libertines
Jan 29 2024

No doubt they rock out, but not really my jam. I imagine they tear up some garages

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Jan 30 2024

Wish I liked Willie more

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Feb 01 2024

Dusty is lit. I thought the album got better as it went on. Big voice. Added two songs to my library

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Feb 03 2024

Marvin will make you feel something. Pause. No I meant it. This album is up there right behind Whats Going On for me. Much different vibe (all love songs) but still the same passion. Will never get old

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Feb 06 2024

The soundtrack I wanna hear if I'm an astronaut looking back at the earth
