Brilliant Corners
Thelonious MonkI listened to most of it, but this type of jazz sounds like someone carrying too much stuff down stairs that are too narrow. It could be funny if it was less annoying.

This is unintentionally funny. Trite riffs and silly lyrics. I hear teens in flannel who worked hard at their guitar lessons doing well at the high school talent contest.
The songs have that silly "old song" vibe. The drums sound like they're badly in need of a tuning. The intro to "Much Too Much" is hilarious.
This is a great record. The lyrics, her voice, the songwriting, and the instrumentation all come together to form something truly special.

It's like a challenging abstract painting in which the noise is in the eye of the beholder. For me, it's ugly, repellant music. Putting it in the context of the lives and tastes of another demographic, it could be meaningful. My rating is for me, though. The cover looks like January 6th.
There are a few decent songs spread between several bad ones. I can't tell if this supposed to be funny or what. This is another band that may have been influential in their day, even though the music isn't very good.
So bad. This "1001 albums" list is so full of intolerable garbage like this that it makes me want to give up this endeavor.
