What the fuck did I just listen to?
I had low expectations for an album from the 60's, but I let me tell you I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this. This is some OG hippie shit and I can tell that glass animals and other indie folk bands took inspiration from S&G. I also have heard Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme and Simon & Garfunkel before and had no idea what they were talking about (don't judge me) so I feel like this made me more cultured.
This one was meh for me. All of the songs blurred together into one long weird tune. Were they speaking english? Is this an english-only list? I do think this album would be a great soundtrack to a 80’s outer space sci-fi romance movie, or a french film about outdoor rock climbing, but not for leisurely listening
With a name like Cowboy Junkies I was expecting some hardcore country and that first long soulful note was a bit of a jumpscare. That being said, this was a solid album. The music kinda put me to sleep but I’m not mad about it. This is the kind of music I would expect to hear at a yoga class while doing shavasanah.
Not my cup of tea, a little too old timey/foreign for me. I found myself skipping through the songs halfway through. The only reason it’s not 1 star is because the dude sounded like he was having a lot of fun singing
What the fuck did I just listen to?
This was nice! A little sleepy, but I wasn’t mad about it
I’m didn’t love this, but didn’t hate it either. Decent variety of songs which was nice. Songs varied from quintessential 80’s jams to Tim Burton jams (Mother) to intergalactic soundtracks, and ofc Every breath you take, which will never not be a banger. I’m grateful for a non-60’s album but also hungry for a 90’s or later album.
I’m torn, because I really liked the first song, but absolutely hated the second, and the rest of the album was a mix of mediocre and fine. Even the songs themselves started good sometimes and then went downhill. This album bas potential and was almost good, but the vibes were just off and that good first song is not enough to warrant a high ranking. I also kept hoping for loser baby but it’s not on this album apparently, if it had been it would’ve been enough to catapult this into a 3
FINALLY my prayers for a post-1990's album have been answered and this one did not disappoint. Good beats, good vibes, good music, that's all I need. I'm not a huge rap girl, so I think the beats/instrumentals is what really made the experience for me.
Omg another post 90’s album??? This program is spoiling me. That being said idk how to feel about this one. I liked several songs, they had a fun soulful feel, but by the time the album was over I was falling asleep. I’m torn between a 3 or a 4.
Absolutely not. It’s like it’s trying to be 3 different genres in the worst way possible. Who tf made this list??
I swear to god I’ve never been so happy to see taylor swift in my life, finally something familiar!
This album is so maddy coded, I already know she’s gonna give it a 5. It’s the perfect angsty teen, blast your room cause tour mad at your parents album. My two gripes are that I often couldn’t hear the vocals over the heavy instruments, and all the songs kind of blended together towards the middle. Burnout and longview were my favorite tracks, I hated the laser sting tho. Still a solid album overall tho
Ugh idk how to feel about this one. There were several “what the fuck is going on” but also “oh I’m kinda vibing with this” moments. I love the irish folk music vibe but also there was a song with just music and screaming which should not be allowed. The album also went on for way too long. I wish I could give it a 2.5. I feel like this is an album that sara would love
Nopenopenope this one’s a little too angsty for me. More heavy metal than punk music, and idk if rap and punk/metal work well together. Maybe there’s a reason that numb is the only linkin park song I’ve ever heard of (it’s the only good one). In the end was kinda good tho.
