It's a solid album, just not for me. I find that some songs outstay their welcome and/or get a bit too repetitive for my liking, but I really appreciate the ambition and uniqueness to it all. A few songs I feel would fit in a soundtrack like Jet Set Radio perfectly!
So while I'm not a fan, it's something I respect. It's not afraid with what it's doing, it's confident and competent with the beats and techno direction!
Surprised how much I enjoyed this album! It's very clean and polish, none of the songs are misses!
High recommend!
Really, really enjoyed this album! I'm somebody who enjoys the older, old-school songs. This didn't feel like it lasted too long, and even if I'm not going to remember every song, what is on offer I see myself coming back to!
Highly recommend!
A solid album! It is just jazz, but it's good jazz, made time fly while working. It isn't an album I'll listen to very often, but it's good background music, very well put together!
High recommendation for folks who enjoys listening to a lot of jazz music.
It's an okay album! I like it more as background music, like if I'm waking up for the day.
It has some great beats and instruments, but sadly the songs didn't really click with me. It's the sound balancing, the vocals feel like they're being drowned out and such, I feel I would enjoy them much better if it was a bit tighter in that department.
It's a decent album, though not really for me.
Stephanie Knows Who is a song I think was just bad. I don't know if it's due to the album's age, but it felt unfinished and kinda messy to listen to. Nothing really hooked me. Revelation isn't bad, but I didn't like how long the song is. 16 minutes is way too long and didn't hold my interest much.
The rest of the songs though, I like! They won't be on my Spotify Playlist, but they're much more polished and enjoyable to listen to. Again, not a bad album and it is unique for the genre, but not one I'm going to remember much.
What a... Weird album. It's an album that gave me an experience I've never heard before, for better or for worse.
The album opening based on the title's name, I found quite decent. The Gift is also one I also like, gave me Gorillaz "Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head" vibes. Lady Godiva's Operation... I'm not sure about, I think the first part is decent. But the second half when they transition to other singers sounds falls very flat, it doesn't blend well and is quite jarring.
Here She Comes Now is kinda forgettable, I Hear Her Call My Name is when they kick the noise to the next level. They're fully committed to this bizzare direction, and... It kinda, sorta works? It's not accessible, that's for sure, but I kinda like the experimentation and just going all out with no shame. What doesn't work for me is the added lyrics, as I feel just retract from the song.
And the final song... 17 minutes, 30 seconds. I will admit, I like the beat at the start. The more the song goes on, it goes even more insane, the lyrics making me laugh at points. But it isn't... Bad. It's an interesting experience, but it isn't music I'd listen to on my Playlist. It's an ambitious, bizzare, experimental album that won't appeal to a lot of folk. But I really respect what they tried to go for here, even if I don't think it's an album I'll listen to again.
Good listen! I'm not crazy with country, so some of the song didn't fully click with me. But there are a good amount here I did enjoy, a couple I can see myself adding into my Spotify Playlist.
High recommend!
