1001 Albums Summary

Note: this is the first album that game up on 1001 albums generator. I went through a 70s prog rock phase when I was a teenager. Although the 70s are my favorite decade, British prog rock is not my favorite genre. So much over indulgence. This one surprised me though. I've never heard any Supertramp outside of the hit singles from Breakfast in America. Crime of the Century does not start out that promising. I was not a fan of School or Bloody Well Right. Things picked up on Hide in your shell, and definitely improved from there. I like how the songs in the latter half of the album were less serious, even fun. They don't sound like they take themselves too seriously. 4 stars.

Self-indulgent crap. This is the first Who album I bought and listened to and basically wrote them off because of it. Who's Next is an absolute masterpiece. This? It's not enjoyable to listen to at all.

A masterpiece. So many iconic songs.

This album *sounds* like classic Fleetwood Mac, but none of the songs are memorable and it meanders forever with weird, incoherent Buckingham songs. Why is this on the top album list? It's like they have just made an album of unfinished parts of songs. So strange.

I'm not a huge Grateful Dead fan, but this was fairly interesting. The harmonies are so woefully out of tune, but that's charming, especially in these days of autotuned awfulness. It's groovier than I expected. I really like Sugar Magnolia.

There are a ton of other hip hop albums that are not on this list that are far more interesting, musically.
