1001 Albums Summary

highkey a lot more rock than i remember it being as a kid. favorite new song is Death on Two Legs. really refreshing to listen to

id like the loud parts more on a faster day and the soft parts more on a slower one. shockingly long, there absolutely ARE good songs on this album, if you have the patience to listen through 5 okay ones in between each. favorite new track is To Forgive

could not get into it. its just okay. desperately need to relisten

funky as fuck, but at times overly repetitive. i would listen to this doing manual labor

i really really like radiohead but this one… i just dont get it

what he lacks in singing ability, he lacks equally in lack of rhythm and poor instrumentation

loud and angry, kinda cringe but in a good way. never been a huge fan of this nirvana album and still am not fully convinced. i could see why others would really love it, but its very middle of the road for me. favorite song is heart shaped box

i love the rawness of this performance. i love the bass (which I have eq’d like crazy on my headphones). i love cobains voice. if i were to pick which songs did and didn’t get included, this album would easily be a 5, unfortunately this is not the case, and i think its only fair (and a little snobbish) to my small corral of 5’s that i round down to a 4. favorite songs: where did you sleep last night, man who sold the world, dumb, something in the way least favorite songs: polly

what do you get when you take a rock album and strip it of any vocal inflection, instrumentally cohesive tracks, and basic enthusiasm? 40 something minutes of mindless crooning. im not mad, just disappointed. listening to blue oyster cult after so i can remember what good soft rock sounds like again.
