Scissor Sisters by Scissor Sisters
Feb 28 2024

Very strange album. Best song was an odd cover of a Pink Floyd song which was a pale imitation of the real thing.

Axis: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix
Feb 29 2024

Little Wing is the best song ever written. Would be a 5 even if it didn't have One Rainy Wish, Castles Made of Sand or Bold as Love.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Mar 01 2024

Two absolute bangers in Scar Tissue and Otherside. Californication is solid. The rest of the album is forgettable popified Nirvana without a single memorable guitar riff. Purple Stain had potential, but they butchered it with the lyrics and cadence. Around the World is a misguided foray into rap that has not stood the test of time.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Mar 05 2024

Starts strong. Ends strong. Forgettable in the middle, but four hits out of ten songs is pretty elite.

Chirping Crickets by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Mar 06 2024

Not Fade Away is an awesome song written before the musical technology matured enough to make it good. Check out the Grateful Dead Live at Manhattan Center, 1971. Seems to be a general trend on this album. Well written songs without the studio tech or guitar shredders to really make it pop.
