I cannot believe this record is on here. It is the very definition of "fine". Absolutely no one NEEDS to hear this record before they die.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Mar 17 2024

easy 4/5 album. several radio hit bangers and some great "deep cuts" as well (Midnite Cruiser and Change of the Guard never really got radio play as far as I can remember). album has no real stinkers, 41 minutes flies by.

0/5 one of the worst bands of all time. ireland's worst ever export.

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Mar 19 2024

Probably would've said 5 the first time I heard it but some of the tracks are cringe like a decade later so I'm downgrading it to a 4. Kendrick is at his best for me when he sticks to serious conscious lyrics. When he tries to go less serious or god forbid get sexy it's like... Alright cmon my man

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Mar 20 2024

dollar store Oasis. 3/5. would be 2.5 if i could do half stars. its fine. completely inoffensive. lifted a lot of guitar tone from the stone roses which i can appreciate but thats really it.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Mar 21 2024

How do you manage to get 6 radio hits out of a rock opera that only has 3 official singles? I dunno but they did it. It gets 4 stars instead of 5 because honestly you can tell this was more suited for a music film or the live stage show. There's a bunch of tracks on here that are really just a means to segue from one "real" song to another.

OK Computer by Radiohead

i was prepared to act too cool for school and give this 4/5 but i sat down and listened to it straight through for the first time in probably at least a decade and it is flawless. there is nothing negative to say about anything here, it is one of the best records of all time. in fact, it has probably actually gotten better with time as the lyrical themes all hit precisely the right notes for a dying capitalist society. in 1997, far fewer people saw this coming than the amount which now realize what we're in. a pig in a cage on antibiotics indeed.

What's That Noise? by Coldcut

it was fine. kinda just made me wanna listen to erik b and rakim though. it was interesting to see this sort of early style of "electronic" music for lack of a better term, knowing what it would evolve into later on. 2 feels too long because it wasn't actively bad so i will give it 3.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Mar 26 2024

there is great alternative radio rock from the 90s. and then theres this. 1.5/5

Parklife by Blur
Mar 30 2024
