I knew I was in for a record full of long songs when I saw this pop up--was surprised though when I zoned out listening to politik and realized minutes later that I was listening to the same song. That said, the album has a very easy going tone with resonant guitar riffs and emotional lyrics. It is almost reminiscent of worship music that deftly aims to get the listener into the right "headspace". God put a smile upon your face stood out to me as the most body moving track with a country western/almost jazz adjacent bass line underneath the verses that clearly transform to an indie rock track with the other instruments layered overtop. The opening of Daylight reminded me heavily of When The Day met the Night by Panic at the Disco. Of course, this album predates Pretty Odd, so maybe Panic took inspiration from this, or perhaps it is just the same instrument. Overall, would stare out a car window as rain hits the glass and imagine I'm in a 2000's movie to any of these tracks.
