1001 Albums Summary

We want the funk is timeless, lots of protofunk and I can see how it’s influenced a lot that’s come after it. Beyond a few highs like handcuffs and give up the funk it was a tad generic but that’s to be expected of early work like this.

i am gen z and don't have the patience required to properly enjoy a 20m prog rock track on the first go around... Honestly really good for studying / working, it occasionally gets really good to the point where I have to put down what I'm doing and enjoy it for a minute (like rn) but I think it's not for me yk?

yea this bangs!! played the first track on a bar’s patron dj system and got more than a few ppl to look up at it - always a great sign

3.5/5 - it kinda sounds like something that would be used in the credits sequence of a Regular Show episode. By the seventh track I was done being able to give the album my full undivided attention as there isn't a lot interesting going on musically. What's there is solid, but it's nothing revolutionary imo

Props for executing a solid concept album. I do like a lot of the instrumentals and there’s some solid emotional beats. Couldn’t really take it seriously front to back as 🗣️🗣️ITD BE TRAGIC IF THOSE EVIL ROBOTS WIN🗣️🗣️ is mad corny im so sorry

Hey Ya is NOT the only banger on this album. A few skips here and there, but if you like the OutKast style beyond the titular tracks, it's a pretty solid listen.

banger of an album!! lots of classic samples in here, was v cool to be able to pick out how this album has influenced modern music.

anything pharrell touches is pure gold - p solid album everywhere else though!
