Objectively great album. I’ll pull it out for a listen for a day at the beach
A possibly perfect album? Cohesive, enjoyable to listen to, excellent opening and closing tracks, and great choice of a title track.
At the risk of sounding old…. Is it possible there’s just too much noise? I don’t mind the feeling that I’m catching a show at The Bronze in Buffy, and the album certainly feels youthful, but also inexperienced. It feels like a first album, exciting at times, but lacking depth (not unlike a high school boyfriend).
Feels like a self aware magnum opus. I was hooked from Ex-Factor. Lyrically, To Zion is a masterpiece. Overall, it feels like Ms. Lauryn Hill knows the significance of what she has to say, and when she shoots, it hits.
Perfect opening track. Overall, the album had literal highs and lows. Nice for a trip to the mall.
