1001 Albums Summary

Listened to this album three times. Need to see what motivated the artists- I think this album came out when I was in late high school? heavy nostalgic lyrics and vibes helped it age perfectly.

*disclaimer: I was very grumpy yesterday* *also, didn’t listen to each song to completion, but waited at least 60 seconds before skipping* Kinda my first introduction to Fleetwood Mac, so many not the best album for me with the experimental genre stuff they were doing? I’m certainly not a particular-about-lyrics type of guy, (usually listening to music with few, if any, lyrics) but the repetitive and predictable rhyming annoyed me.

They (mainly ice cube) sure do hate women. Fuck tha police is 5 star.

Listened to all of it but was pretty distracted throughout the listen- good stuff, but not my favorite!

Loved this one! Really loved the twangy parts of the album. Saved 5 songs from thus; Farewell ride, broken drum, earthquake weather, e-pro, and go it alone.

Didn’t hate it!

I wish I could appreciate the cultural moment Nirvana created but I wasn’t there. Not my favorite

Suspected I liked outlaw country but I didn’t expect to like it this much!

Great listen while stuck in Boston traffic! Seemed liked they never took a breather in the live portion of the album- impressive.

Was going to give a three star because the song You’ve Really Got a Hold On Me is a five star but I just learned that it was a cover (the original is better). I was impressed, thinking “wow they created this from scratch!” Mmm, yeah. Okay. 🤷🏻‍♂️
