Time to pretend- sounds like a new 'hip and cool' Old Navy advertisement. weekend wars - dip can core. early bowie years sound. sounds like teeth melting but in a pleasant way (i love it) the youth - this isn't a song it's strangely whimsical video game bgm electric feel - i fuck with this song but only for like a minute. like im not gonna go look for it i will enjoy the vibes while its on kids - it's a classic and technically incredible however i am never happy to hear it 4th dimensional transmission - very art very cool but not great for just jamming to pieces of what - beautiful and jarring in like a violent femmes kinda way of moons, birds and monsters - this song sounds like it was made on and for psychedelics. plays like a smooth rollercoaster. fucking incredible guitar. the handshake - giving pink floyd the wall vibes. final act of an opera vibes. future reflections - sounds like a song that would play on the ending credits of a movie which is a super cool way to wrap up an album. This album really felt like it was calling back to the psychedelic 70's rock opera albums where it tells a story from start to finish. The experimental signature 'MGMT' sound tapers off toward the end so the last half of the album is less interesting. A great listen overall as an artistic experience, but not what i would just sit around and jam to. Favs: Of moons birds and monsters, weekend wars Least fav: 4th dimensional transmission
