Oracular Spectacular
MGMT
Time to pretend- sounds like a new 'hip and cool' Old Navy advertisement.
weekend wars - dip can core. early bowie years sound. sounds like teeth melting but in a pleasant way (i love it)
the youth - this isn't a song it's strangely whimsical video game bgm
electric feel - i fuck with this song but only for like a minute. like im not gonna go look for it i will enjoy the vibes while its on
kids - it's a classic and technically incredible however i am never happy to hear it
4th dimensional transmission - very art very cool but not great for just jamming to
pieces of what - beautiful and jarring in like a violent femmes kinda way
of moons, birds and monsters - this song sounds like it was made on and for psychedelics. plays like a smooth rollercoaster. fucking incredible guitar.
the handshake - giving pink floyd the wall vibes. final act of an opera vibes.
future reflections - sounds like a song that would play on the ending credits of a movie which is a super cool way to wrap up an album.
This album really felt like it was calling back to the psychedelic 70's rock opera albums where it tells a story from start to finish. The experimental signature 'MGMT' sound tapers off toward the end so the last half of the album is less interesting. A great listen overall as an artistic experience, but not what i would just sit around and jam to.
Favs: Of moons birds and monsters, weekend wars
Least fav: 4th dimensional transmission

Tusk
Fleetwood Mac
over & over - totally fine but a little boring
the ledge - what a jaunty little tune it physically pains me that this isn't a nick cave song
think about me - is this yacht rock ( i cant wait to retire )
save me a place - best opening line of a song ever. this is a song that plays when someone's soul passes over
sara - i cannot be convinced that there is a single soul on this earth who doesn't enjoy this sound
what makes you think you're the one - i was not previously aware how much this album sounds like pirates very fun find
storms- inarguably good but a little underwhelming
that's all for everyone - this sounds like a cult hymn and should be like half of the length it is
not that funny - another jaunty lil tune but this one is extra annoying
sisters of the moon - the way the bass like, creeps in in the beginning of the song is fuckin CHEFS KISS like you know this song about to tell you a whole epic tale
angel - this is a driving with the windows down kinda song
that's enough for me - this sounds like a ho down being hosted by a complete raving madman
brown eyes- ugh their moodier songs are so vastly superior to the fun ones. also this song sounds like a noir film
never make me cry - it's fine but too ballady for me so an instant skip lol
i know im not wrong - here we go again with fleetwood mac trying to have fun. this one works better than the other ones so far
hi honey - very cute but i have no desire to actually hear it
beautiful child - it's gorgeous but also too ballady for me to seek out often
walk a thin line- this song just kinda sounds like nothing, like air
tusk - this song is creepy as fuck and goes so hard. i bet danny elfman loves this song
never forget - this song is so cute and feels like a warm hug after the rollercoaster ride of emotions that is this album
overall several tracks just feel like any old run of the mill folk song, and the good tracks are SO good that it made them hard to sit through cause like...we know they make amazing songs so why did they make this boring one ya know? It's very solid overall though and has some great examples of their work that shows why the group is so legendary.
Favorites: sisters of the moon, brown eyes, tusk

Jerry Lee Lewis
I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I actually liked this. I can really hear where a lot of the artists I love were influenced by his music. It's a little too much key clanging for me to sit through a whole album of, but it's gone some certified bangers.
