If this is 'Bossa Nova' I like it. 90% of the lyrics weren't in English so I can't speak for the songwriting quality, but the saxophone and the bass were both beautiful. An album of just jazz does get tiring after a while, and it is the perfect example of music that I like, but was not made for me. I listened to the original masters as FLAC files at 24-bit 96KHz on the expanded edition of the album. I didn't bother listening to the mono and single recordings featured on the expanded edition as I doubt they sound different enough from the stereo masters to listen to. There is a remastered version of the album available which I will add to my TIDAL collection as both a full album and individual tracks.
Some good sadder & slow songs but most of it is filler. Crippled Inside is probably the most average song on the album but Jealous Guy is a highlight.
Don't get me wrong, it's funky as, but the lyrics are not much and the album gets very repetitive. Maybe I'm just not the kind of guy for this music and I hate to say it but I find this very generic.
A real funky sounding album. Unfortunately after a while the songs start to kind of blend together and frankly the lyrics aren't great. But overall a really fun album to put on.
Look, this music simply isn't made for me. It isn't bad necessarily, but I find the album generic. The lyrics are fine and so is the sound, but it just isn't a genre that excites me and as a result the album kinda blends into itself. The last track 'King Harvest (Has Surely Come) is definitely a highlight of the album, but as a whole it doesn't stick the landing.

This is quite possibly the worst album I've ever listened to. The music is bad and droning, the lyrics are completely unintelligible and every song sounds so similar I often miss the transitions between them.
Not a terrible album, just a very generic sound. I enjoy the vocals but there is nothing unique about the instrumentals at all. I'm sure someone enjoys this album, it's just not me.
A very natural, soft & beautiful sounding album with some great lyrics. Standouts include Wild World for the melody & Father And Son for the lyrics.
An etherial, chill album that's half instrumental, half sung. Less like an album & more like a chill jam sesh, however it works due to the album's length, being only 35 minutes, keeping the listener from getting tired of some of the more repetitive natures of the album. 'Hot As Sun/Glasses' is the standout instrumental, with the final section of the song sounding about 30 years ahead of its time. 'Junk' contains a hauntingly beautiful melody & 'Teddy Boy' showcases the best storytelling present in the album. Overall, while not a particularly strong album, the length and varied tones of the songs keeps it from being a bore.
An incredible instrumental album that barely loses pace as the songs progress, as so many other instrumental albums do. Every song on the record evokes the feeling of New York. 'My Mate Paul' & 'Let's Get Killed' are particular highlights alongside the remix/remake of the James Bond Theme used in 'Radio 7 (Album Version)'. A perfect album to put on while studying, sleeping, cooking & much more.
