1001 Albums Summary

The sound of the ensemble is very unique as there isn't often you have this group of instruments. I like the way each provide a different texture to the overall sound. All the tracks are good, the limitation is the shorter tracks not feeling like the experimented too much.

Classic Funk Album, I love the various grooves. Give Up the Funk I had heard before and the last track was unavailable on Spotify but overall was a really groovy listen

The second half of this album is the stronger half imo. I didn't really enjoy this flavor of funk where you have 1 syncopated instrument/line with the rest being on the beat. I can tell that this album takes more after the Early James Brown-esque side of Funk and while some tracks are good, I didn't find it that engaging of a listen

Really solid all the way through. I enjoy the woodwind arrangements and tight vocal harmony that are ethereal. This entire album has a psychedelic, ethereal, and beautiful sound. I like the use of heavy reverb on vocals in Time of the Season. The organ solo is amazing

I liked the weight that Cohen's voice has on a lot of the tracks. The guitar playing is excellent and I like the choice of restricting more instruments to certain tracks as I feel like that gives those tracks more weight

It’s fine, some tracks are good but I feel like some go on for way longer than necessary

I haven’t listened to this album in a while and forgot that it is amazing all the way through. The vocal harmonies, the guitar playing, and the songs portraying the state the band was in at this time. It’s awesome through and through

Most of the blues is fine-good, however Layla is one of the best rock songs I have ever heard. The opening guitar riff coming in after the rest of the album is akin to the sun setting after a rough day knowing that you are alive and okay. That musical moment alone is why you should listen to this album. Is the rest of the album at the same caliber? No and it doesn't even come close.

This album is brought down in my mind by the several instrumental interludes that feel like they are half of the album. I think that if you remove some of them this album gets a lot stronger.

2112 the song is really good throughout its 20 minute runtime. The rest of the album is fine to good. As a whole most of the reason to listen to this album is to hear 2112 the song. I think the B sides are good, they just don’t hit the peaks of what Rush has to offer though

I've known this album is iconic and amazing for a while now. It's now that I'm getting the excuse to actually listen to it that I find that it is really good throughout.

This album is crazy as I never realized that most of the Bon Jovi songs I know come from this album. Overall I like the more pop renditions of heavy metal stylings
