1001 Albums Summary

Upon listening to the first track, I thought this record was probs not for me. I carried on trying to be less judgemental of a genre I am less familiar with and surprised myself. I particularly enjoyed the lyrics, they tell a believable story when trying to, and express very real feeling, not glamourised or embellished. Some of the songs were not for me, and this is not the type of thing I would usually listen to, but i still enjoyed the record overall :) Plus cool album name and cover! Highlights: - Visions of Johanna - One of us must know (SoL) - I want you - Just like a woman <3 - Absolutely sweet Marie - Fourth time around - Obviously five believers - sad-eyed lady

Too short ! Really enjoyed, not much notes, it’s just really good. I like hearing the crowd! Highlights: (all of it?) - I’ll go crazy - I don’t mind - Lost someone - Please x3 / You’ve got the power

I hadn’t heard of them, but recognised the first track immediately. It’s giving me retro coming of age movie soundtrack straight off the bat. I can appreciate that this is good music, and I like the vibe. Although, it’s not really something I would listen to in my own time. I like the instrumental bits! Highlights: - More than a feeling - Smokin - Hitch a ride !

Pretty much what I expected lyrically from what I already knew about this album. I really rate the concept and the use of music to spread this message. + points for sick band/record name and sick cover Having been gradually introduced to heavier sounds than I was used to through bands like the Hives, I found myself enjoying the sound of this music a lot more than I would have previously. I like it! It’s a little intense lyrically to just slap on casually though I feel.. Hightlights: - Bombtrack ! - Killing in the name - Bullet in the head - Know your enemy - Wake up

Really enjoyed as someone who has not quite cracked casually listening to jazz yet. The length of songs is often intimidating however I did not feel the time pass with this record. Highlights: - Brilliant corners - Pannonica !!

Really lovely, didn’t massively listen in order but a sound of music that I really enjoy.
