What's Going On
Marvin GayeMusic can, and often should, say something. A beautiful, cohesive experience from beginning to end, with high re-listenability.

Not my kind of pop, but 3 stars just for Sledgehammer and that emulated shakuhachi
Not sure why but this one didn't resonate with me. Felt like it didn't go hard enough? I know I like some of Garbage's later stuff a bit better. Maybe I need to give it another shot sometime.
First of all, albums shouldn't be this long! There are some fun tracks here but also a lot of weird filler. It's still the Beatles though, how bad can it be?
Felt nothing :(
I really like this music! But I think it suffers from being on an album. This stuff just has to be heard live.
Couldn’t decide originally if this inched to a 4 (bonus points for covering good golly miss molly) but maybe my dad rock days are behind me??
Important, brave, forward-looking, the only thing that holds this back from being 5* is needing to be a little more musically engaging when listening front-to-back.
Beautiful start to finish
Another album that I’d rather be listening to in a jazz bar than on vinyl
Just for the chain
Innovation and power around every corner. I can't get up on the karaoke stage and sing Can't Buy Me Love this many times and not award the full 5 stars.
I thought I wasn't much into MJ but this grew on me. I even enjoy him and Paul McCartney fighting over a girl, as silly as it sounds
Not sure how to rate this stuff that I would normally only listen to while high. For consistency will give a “sober rating” as that’s how I am while listening to these albums
Love this sound! Not normally that into folk but this works for me as an album
I love storytelling in songs and this album is bookended by two really nice ones in Big Iron and El Paso. But most of the rest of the album is really dull prewar type melodies which I cannot stand :(
Rating this after only one listen so I don’t have to go through it again. Sorry, go off, kings but do it somewhere far away so I can’t hear you thanks
